Owners very friendly and welcoming
Beautiful gardens front and back. Nice location just a shame about speeding cars going through the village. Kitchen well equipped. Just felt that a little more attention to cleaning was needed.

Very nice stay
The owner lives next door and was very helpful without being intrusive The garden was a high spot -lovely to sit in in nice weather. The house is an 1840 built cottage in a small village (without amenities) but house pretty well modernised. Might need to be aware of cooking arrangements-only a Rayburn and a microwave, but Rayburn very efficient once you've carefully read the instructions. Wiltshire has much to see but needs a fair bit of driving

Great gem
My wife and I had sold our house so needed somewhere to stay whilst we found our forever home. The old orchard is a quaint and beautiful cottage if you are after plush ikea furniture this is not for you. Everything in the cottage suites even down to the old pantry style cupboards in the kitchen. Loved the rayburn never used one before but once you get used to it it is fine. Open fire in the living room was lush and the cottage was very warm even opened bedroom window at night. Penny who owns the cottage and lives next door was a great host even down to filling up log basket if you left it outside her back door for a very reasonable fee which goes to the church. If you want a peaceful break with the dogs this is certainly the place to go.

Quaint
We couldn't eat out much because we had the dog with us, but I used a Rayburn for the first time and found it excellent. The fact that our dog could come too makes us certain that we will book again.

Traditional cottage
There were 3 of us and we thoroughly enjoyed our 6 night stay here. It was a last minute booking but a great find especially for us as we had to visit family in the same village. It was as the photos show,a traditional place ,but the space there was perfect for us, especially the outdoor space, and we used the gas barbecue on 3 occasions. Owners were next door and very friendly and helpful for any queries. We would definitely stay again if we were in the same situation. Thanks Penny and Chris, relaxing and restful holiday

Cottage with character and great location
This is a cottage & garden suiting those who like the character of these older homes. Very handy for ours stay, off road parking, 2 good bedrooms, kitchen and annex. Loved the garden should have had a BBQ but ran out of time! Location suited us for trips to Bath (park and ride was great) , Lacock and the highly recommended Avebury! Could do with some form of wifi as nothing much in this area to get free wifi from.

Lovely Cottage and Garden
Excellent location with a lovely garden that was in bloom when we stayed. Walking distance to the Dilton Marsh train platform within 5 minutes walking with connections to Bath and beyond. Only a 30 minute drive to Stonehenge and Salisbury. Prince of Wales Pub just down the street that serves food on Thursdays through Sundays. Penny and her husband very friendly and helpful. Hearing the church bells through the open windows was very peaceful.

A real gem in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside
This cosy and quaint cottage was a real 'home from home'. An ideal location in the lovely, friendly village of Dilton Marsh, for exploring the nearby attractions of Longleat Safari Park, Bath and the Wiltshire countryside. We had planned a last minute mini break and within an hour of settling in Old Orchard Cottage we were able to unwind and feel relaxed. We will definitely be returning in the not too distant future.

Cosy Engish cottage.
Old Orchard Cottage is well placed to explore historic Bath and World Heritage listed Stonehenge, along with many other delightful places to discover. We particularly enjoyed the National trust listed Lacok village . The cottage is comfortable and very well equipped . Great for folk like us who come from abroad. Good value for this price range.
