Chateau
Chateau d' Hallines was built as a large family home, with beautiful reception rooms to entertain in great style. Over the years it has been host to many spectacular parties and weddings. It has recently been refurbished to sleep 26 in 12 rooms and 11 bathrooms. The large reception rooms are filled with comfy sofas, and the dining room table can be expanded to seat thirty. This is a house where the emphasis is on groups having fun, whether a celebration for friends or families holidaying together. There is a library with a home-cinema, a snooker room, a playroom with table-tennis and table football, an indoor mini-tennis court - even a high-ceilinged room with a full-size trampoline in it. There are four hectares of lawn and parkland, an outside seating area with a gas barbecue and mountain bikes to explore the local area. The house is easy to get to, especially from the U.K., being just a thirty minute drive from the Channel Tunnel, and two and a half hours from Paris. This is a region that is rich in history. Saint Omer is a beautiful medieval city with a market and cathedral. There is much to see nearby in connection with both World Wars, including the famous La Coupole museum. The beaches of the Opal Coast are 45 minutes away. More

About the neighbourhood
The château is on the edge of the village of Hallines. We are 400 metres from the village bakery. Saint Omer is a ten minute drive away. It has dominated the region for a thousand years, and is a wonderful city to wander around. As well as the cathedral and other landmarks, there are dozens of restaurants and cafés - as well as excellent shopping. Dennlys Theme Park is nearby and popular with kids. There is a lovely wine shop that is five minutes away (and can deliver), and local street markets: Saint Omer on Saturday morning and Wizernes on Sunday morning.
Getting around
A car is highly recommended. The house is convenient for the Channel Tunnel and the ferries that arrive at Calais. Calais Frethun and Lille are the nearest major rail stations. The nearest airports are in Lille, Brussels and Paris. There is a taxi company in the village.
