Located in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this cosy, 200-year old stone cottage is the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and offers an idyllic retreat in which to unwind.Behind the cottage, the sunny, walled courtyard with cast iron garden furniture and BBQ contains a delightful south-facing, stone-built studio – an ideal space for relaxing whatever the weather – and country walks start from right outside the cottage gate. The cottage is ideally situated for the Dales and there are many wonderful places to visit nearby including Fountains Abbey, a World Heritage Site, Brimham Rocks and the spa town of Harrogate.

When you have booked we will send you joining details about 2-weeks from the start of your stay with the address and key details. It is your holiday so once your booking starts you are free to turn-up when you like. We have a local housekeeper but we are always contactable through the mail system here if you need us. In the cottage we provide a full info file, loads of leaflets on things to do, OS maps, walking guides, loads of games and a studio/games room with a dart board.

About the neighbourhood
Pateley Bridge, on the borders of the Yorkshire Dales National Park has shopping and dining in the village. There are many wonderful walks nearby and a public footpath starts outside the cottage back gate. The World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal water gardens, the amazing natural rock formations at Brimham Rocks (both National Trust) and the award-winning landscape sculpture Coldstones Cut – a monumental piece of public art with stunning views of the surrounding countryside are all a short drive away.
A few minutes’ walk away the High Street has a 17th-century coaching inn, tea shops, cafes and restaurants, 2 award-winning butchers, bakeries, a deli, two small supermarkets stores and the oldest sweet shop.
Getting around
Bus services are available into Harrogate, local taxi firms are reliable and reasonably priced or a car or motorbike will get you around most conveniently. The train station at Harrogate has regular train links to Leeds and York.

Nearby pubs and restaurants include the Sportsman’s Arms at Wath – a short drive or riverside walk away serve excellent food – and there is the Michelin-starred Yorke Arms at Ramsgill.

There is a good range of shopping and restaurants in nearby Ripon, Knaresborough and Harrogate, and many independent shops and studios in the area exhibiting and selling artisan products.

The cottage is on a one-way street with on-road parking normally available right outside (respecting neighbours' access) and there is no charge or permit system.

The train station at Harrogate has regular train links to Leeds and York and is a 30 minute drive away.
