This A-Frame Caribbean bungalow is situated in a sheltered garden open to the tropical breezes and located 2 kilometers from the Las Galeras Village center. The view (from your bed!) overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and the Cabo Cabron National Park across the Bay of Las Galeras. It is normally a very tranquil place.
The house is private, yet on the same property as the owners. The water system is pressurized, and the indoor shower has hot running water. There is a second private shower in the garden.
There is a small refrigerator and a very basic two-burner gas hotplate.
There are two pretty well-behaved dogs on site; they will mostly leave you alone, as will Nuris and I (although we're certainly available to provide information and answer questions such as you may have.)

About the neighbourhood
Las Galeras is historically a small fishing village surrounded by subsistence agricultors. But that's changing as the village becomes more touristically developed. It's still relatively laid-back, though.
Your bungalow is a 2 km. drive or stroll along the beach from the town center. The immediate neighborhood of your bungalow is peaceful and quiet and beautiful and our neighbors mostly like it that way.
Local transport is available my motoconcho (motorcycle taxi) or by boat to several of the beaches. You might also be able to work a long-term horse rental deal with one neighbor or another.
It's a five minute walk to the nearest beach at the bottom of the hill.
How to get there
If you're very lucky, you'll book a flight into El Catey (Samana). Otherwise, you'll land in either Santo Domingo or in Santiago.
You'll find that renting a small car is pretty helpful in Las Galeras. It's cheaper if you do so off the grounds of your arrival airport (excepting El Catey.)
Public transportation in the Dominican is pretty functional. From the airport you'll take a cab to the bus depot and then a bus to Samana or--if your luck holds, direct to Las Galeras. We'll pick you up there or elsewhere by prior arrangement.
