Fantastic house, perfect location
Had a wonderful week staying in this house. Very clean and cosy. Although the house is on a street with plenty of others it is very quiet and secluded, you are not overlooked by anyone else and you can quite easily forget you are not in the middle of nowhere! The area of Fortrose is just lovely, and is a perfect base for exploring the Black Isle and beyond. I was staying with a friend that has mobility problems so the extra accessibility was much appreciated and she had no problems using the shower room and getting around the house. The view from the front room is stunning

Great views, cosy & quiet house
Fabulous views from the lounge, gardens are well kept, secure and intriguing for our two kids. Good guide folder in the house - helpful in us using our few days to best advantage. Well equipped with satellite TV (easy to use), kitchen and laundry facilities. Host helpful when required and provided a nice welcome pack. Highly recommended for a short or longer break in the highlands!

Brilliant!
Chanonry View is the ideal base for a holiday to the Black Isle. It is located in the most perfect spot with a private garden and spectacular views. The accommodation is immaculate, cosy and comfortable with all your holiday needs catered for from beach towels for day trips to Rosemarkie beach to a locked garden shed to store your bikes when not exploring all the gems that this beautiful area has to offer. Chanonry View is a fantastic example of brilliant customer service. I would highly recommend this holiday let to anyone. A wonderful holiday had by all and didn’t want to come home!

Welcoming and relaxing home with stunning views across the Moray Firth
Excellent self-catering accommodation that’s well equipped, clean, comfortable and cosy. The garden wraps around the house with various seating areas while the little pathways through the shrubs make this perfect for playing hide and seek. A highlight is the ever-changing view across the Moray Firth (bring some binoculars!), plus the opportunity to spot dolphins. Fortrose’s shops (excellent bakers and butchers, plus a small Coop supermarket) and restaurants are a 5 minute walk away down a path (may take a little longer on the hill back up), and the Black Isle has many other things to do and places to visit within a short drive. With helpful and responsive owners, Chanonry View is a great base for an enjoyable break.

We’ll be back!
I was lucky enough to be one of the first guests at Chanonry View in Fortrose. The house was very clean and comfortable with all you could wish for a relaxing holiday. Views from the picture window in the lounge were stunning - when you could stop watching the bird life in the mature garden. Fortrose itself is an ideal village for a relaxing holiday. We enjoyed golf on the local course, walked miles on the sandy beach and made full use of the golf restaurant, Crofters and the beach cafe, all with lovely views over the water.

Perfect & peaceful cottage.
My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at this cottage for a few days and enjoyed the views of the Moray Firth from its vantage point above the town of Fortrose. The cottage itself is well equipped, clean, comfortable and perfect for couples and small families. We would highly recommend it for those seeking a peaceful getaway on the Black Isle.

About the neighbourhood
Chanonry View is only a 5 minute walk into the village of Fortrose where you'll find the harbour, cathedral, cafes, restaurants, grocery store (Co-op), bakery, gift shops, post office and pharmacy. A 20-25 minute walk or 5 minute drive will take you to the sandy shores of Rosemarkie where you'll find Chanonry Point home to resident dolphins, the double links Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Course (visitors welcome), cafes, tennis courts and paddle board hire. Dolphin trips leave from the neighbouring village of Avoch and also in the seaside village of Cromarty, home to museums, gift shops and cafes. Mountain bike trails at Learnie, Red Rock and plenty of scenic walks are all on the Black Isle and are in close proximity to Chanonry View.
Getting around
Buses from Cromarty to Inverness run through Fortrose every half an hour through the day.

How to get there
Sat Nav or Google Maps should bring you straight to our door however if you're using a traditional map, here are the directions: When on the High Street in Fortrose, take the left turning onto Church Street (the road after the Fortrose Cafe and before the Co-Op/pedestrian crossing). This road continues up a hill and after a few hundred metres, the entrance to Feddon Hill is clearly signposted pointing into the left (just before the national speed limit sign). This where it can become confusing as the numbering system is a bit odd! Once you turn into Feddon Hill, take the first left which leads you back down the hill again. Chanonry View is the 7th house on the left. It is set off the main road but there is a sign on the driveway. Please park on the right side of the driveway (clearly marked on the garage door).
