Moulin de la Ronde with its toes in the Vienne, occupies 4 acres of river frontage with a private island accessible through the mill, where you can fish, bird watch or just relax. The last working mill in the Vienne, La Ronde was a demarcation line between free and occupied France in World War 2. It has over 600 years of history. The 'Old Grainstore' is the upper part of a barn which used to be linked by a footbridge to the mill. Interaction with guests
We live at Le Moulin...so normally we are around and about to help if we're needed. However unless called upon we keep a low profile so guests can fully enjoy the grounds and just get on with their holiday. However if guests want to tap into a bit of local knowledge, we're very happy to chip in:)

A unique and delightful place to stay, in a beautiful area of France; quiet and peaceful but with every amenity within easy reach. The owners are truly a pleasure to meet, and have created a remarkable and beautiful holiday home for their guests.

This unique and beautiful place and in particular the very nice owners Brian and Gill deserve at least 6 stars! Everything is as the photos promise. The park on the island is a dream. Ideal for a relaxing afternoon or a barbecue in the evening....More

About the neighbourhood
The local village of Bonnes is 5 mins walk away with a swimming pool, pharmacy, boulangerie, 2 bars, one the Cafe des Sports serves a 5 course lunch with wine included for 11 Euros (15 on sunday). Just outside the village is the beautiful Chateau Touffou which is open during the at weekends. There are well stocked fishing lakes at Bonnes and a licence can be obtained from the bars. It is a lovely area for walking, cycling and birdwatching. 10 mins away is Chauvigny with its busy markets, many shops, bars, restaurants, supermarkets and indoor pool. River canoeing trips can be booked, it's a unique way to view the river and its wildlife. Chauvigny's high medieval city, including five chateaux , offers spectacular displays of birds of prey, local museum and music during the summer months. ...
Getting around
It's probably best to use your car to get around. There is a bus service into Potiers and of course we have excellent access to railways stations and the airport at Poitiers. Cycling is popular and we have few bikes you can use. Most people don't get down to the village of Bonnes in our canoe or kayak...but it is possible:)
