Thank you for your kind comments, I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay - Barnstable must have one of the most panoramic views on the island, and if you would ever like to return you are most welcome.

How to get there
Getting to Arran Arran is accessible all year by ferry from Ardrossan to Brodick, and in summer by an additional ferry from Claonaig on Kintyre to Lochranza. A reduced service runs from Tarbert to Lochranza in winter. Getting to Shannochie From Brodick Pier, head south for approximately 15 miles. You will pass through the villages of Lamlash and Whiting Bay then come to a sign for Kildonan - keep right on the inland road (the left turn is the low road through Kildonan village). Continue on for another 3 miles. There is a sign on the left at Shannochie roadend. Just turn in and you are at Barnstable and Eryb.
