A hidden gem: Best place to stay
We booked this place after reading the reviews and also the replies sent by the owner. The owner was responding to all the comments posted by travelers. We were nine members traveling for leisure. We spoke with the owner and book the place for us. Sukoon Home Stay is located off the road. Initially, we were confused if we had made a good selection. After we reached Sukoon Home Stay, we were greeted by the caretaker of the property and were escorted to our rooms. The rooms were very nicely prepared for our arrival. The bathrooms were clean and hot water was available. The view from the rooms was awesome. The property is surrounded by fruit trees and we all enjoyed trekking down the hills. The only improvement area is FOOD. The quality of food needs to be improved. Otherwise, it is a great location with very nice service. The tea served was outstanding.

Dropped Out at Booking Stage
How many places does one have a terminal problem with a place at booking stage itself - I had such a problem with Sukoon. I got a call after booking a room reminding me that the delux rooms were without an attached bathroom....so I missed this when I was booking the place and so I was grateful - who wants to pay Rs 3000 for a room with a shared bathroom. I was offered the "family suite" @ a higher price Rs 4000. I said yes and was asked to cancel the other booking. The manager assured me that they would book the suite for my use. After cancelling the other room - I got a call that the suite was now booked by someone else and was not available any more. Motive for doing this - unknown but certainly sounds like things are not under control at Sukoon

Hi Jasmohan. Thank you for your feedback. We would like to inform you that we do not block the rooms until we receive an advance sum from the guest. This would be unfair to guests who are willing to pay upfront for a stay at Sukoon. Also, I am sure you are aware that on some portals the bookings are confirmed instantly because guests pay upfront and if this happens before the inventory is blocked, it is deemed unfair on our part to deny that booking. We are still looking forward to host you at Sukoon and would be happy to offer you a discount as a special case. Unhappy guests are a rare thing here at Sukoon. Cheers, Team Sukoon Homestay

A relaxing stay
A very beautiful property which is basically an old kumaoni house. The stay was nice and comfortable .The view of the himalayan peeks was mesmerizing and the best part was stargazing while lying next to the bonfire. Highly recommend this to all.

A perfect place for Relaxing
I visited Sukoon Homestay in June 2017, and the location is just mesmerizing. Its a little tricky to reach the destination as there are hardly any signboards and the GPS usually fails at such locations. So, i ll divide my review in Sections: 1. Location & View: Its located at a lovely place, with a perfect distance from human habitation. The View from the homestay is amazing. Its peaceful and just too relaxing. I would give it a 9/10 in this section. 2. Stay and Comfort: The stay was nice, but i was a little disappointed on the comfort part. There were No fans/A.Cs in the room, so it was little hot during the day time. Which needs to be improved. Tip: Kindly keep the doors locked during the evening and night, as there are a lot of insects and mosquitoes. 3. Rate & Price: We booked the room which had an attached washroom with it. It costed us Rs.5500 per night for triple sharing (inclusive of breakfast & Snacks). So, the price was on a higher side. Suggestion: Don't book it online. Try and find the owners no. and he ll give you a 20-30% discount. 4. Food & Service: We were provided with 2 helpers/cooks. They prepared good tasty food. Lunch/Dinner would cost Rs.300 per person, Which is comparatively cheap. All in all, its a place to visit in groups. Its a super relaxing place, approx 330 kms from Delhi. Must visit.

Dear Mr. Kunal, Thank you for giving us a feedback by reviewing your recent stay. We have noted all the suggestions based on the above review and surely take all the necessary actions quickly. However, we have the table fans with us kept in our store room. Usually the weather there is always good and that is why, the fans are not there in the rooms. But if in-case the weather gets a bit hot, we provide table fans if asked without any extra charges. We are looking forward to serve you again with more happiness and joy.

A quiant and charming home deep in the wilderness.
It was my third visit to Sukoon and the experience was different every time. Yes, i find peace whenever i go there. That view of a huge valley in front of Sukoon makes me want to come back again and again. Truly magical i must say. Cozy rooms and rustic ambiance of this home makes an addition to the overall experience. The food prepared by the caretaker is completely home-made and very very tasty. The caretaker is always at your service. The starry nights, bar-be-que and bonfire was again a superb experience here. There's no TV in the house and its the best part, you are always connected with nature. Highly Recommended for friends and family.

Everything about the place spells SUKOON!
I chose this homestay for an October weekend, and glad I did. From ambiance to service and comfort everything is beyond expectation in this price. A breakfast at outdoor log dining table, a walk around the trees, the doing nothing time on hammock and the chat around the bonfire with delicious homecooked snacks n dinner. We will definitely go there again very soon.
