The light and spacious open plan living area of this stunning villa is furnished in an easy contemporary style with excellent quality modern sofa and chairs and a plasma TV and DVD player. The dining area has a solid dark wood table with creamy leather chairs and the sleek Italian kitchen has an expanse of well-lit gleaming granite work space, dishwasher, large fridge freezer and built-in full oven with ceramic hobs. From both the kitchen and the living area patio doors open to a wide covered dining terrace with those lovely panoramic views over the garden and swimming pool terrace down the valley towards Sami. Beyond the covered terrace, the lovely tiled 8 x 4 m swimming pool (depth 0.8m x 1.5m) is surrounded by generous sunbathing terraces on two levels where you'll also find a stone built barbecue house with an alternative outside dining area. On the first floor, the two bedrooms each have smart en-suite bath or shower room and patio doors to its own private balcony where at night time, a myriad of lights both in Sami below and hillside villages twinkle. There is also a convenient third shower room on the ground floor. Its less than a 5 min drive down the hill into Sami where tavernas and cafes line the water front, prime position, in the morning, to sip a fredo cappuccino and watch the sailing boats come and go and checking the ferries are running on schedule. Although Sami does have a beach of its own beyond the harbour, it really is well worthwhile making the trip round to the next bay (after coffee) to Antisamos beach. Here pine cloaked mountains drop steeply down to the sea with their colours reflected in thecrystal clear watersand edged by a crescent of white pebble beach. There are some sunbeds and a taverna backing the beach for lunch or a refreshing drink. Along the coast immediately north of Sami are several small coves and a little further on, the beach of Agia Paraskevi has water sport facilities. About the neighbourhood
Sami, Kefalonia This small seaside town has been a main port of call from ancient times to the present day for ships & boats. Sami has grown to be a favourite spot for yachts to pull into it’s harbour after having a lovely sail around the Sami Bay with Ithaki to one side and the tree clad mountains surrounding. By day there is lots of hustle and bustle with the ferries and sailboats coming and going but by night the waterfront, which is lined with tavernas and cafes, gets closed down from traffic and turns into a promenade for pedestrians and has a lovely relaxing atmosphere. There are a couple of banks, a post office, several shops and tavernas in the village. A narrow stretch of beach which is sandy & pebbly is not too far from the
How to get there
