Idyllic location to get away from it all
A wonderful location for a very peaceful visit. Close to Bala. The most wonderful views and an abundance of wildlife, rabbits, pheasants, squirrels and the bonus of a duck pond on your doorstep. A must for any nature lover. Yan and Bernie could not have been nicer and the cottage itself has all the facilities that one could ask for. Would love to return.

Lovely cottage in quiet peaceful setting
Set in a peaceful location, run by extremely friendly owners, the cottage is ideal for a base for exploring North Wales. Lovely and clean with all you need for a relaxing place to stay, the cottage is well equipped. A really lovely place and would happily re-book and stay there again.

Relaxing family weekend getaway
Had a lovely 2 night family weekend break whilst visiting Zip World Fforest. Cottage was very comfortable and we all slept well. The surroundings are peaceful and quiet with a lovely pub 2 minutes walk away who do a selection of meals. The cottage owners, Yan and Bernie, were very friendly. Within 5 minutes of arriving Yan popped in with a tray of cupcakes. Bernie also chatted away giving us an interesting history of the farm. There was also a very friendly cat that kept the boys occupied on numerous occasions. Would definitely recommend the cottage especially the friendly owners who were extremely welcoming, we would certainly stay again if visiting the area. Thank you to Yan and Bernie for a lovely weekend.

Peaceful location and handy for pub
The cottage is at the far end of some rather dilapidated farm buildings and surrounding landscaping may still be 'work in progress', but we liked the quiet peaceful location, and the approach did not put us off. Once through the buildings, the cottage itself has rural views and one is not aware of adjacent buildings. It is handily located for the pub, which serves nice food, and there is a walk along disused railway track directly from the cottage (unfortunately blocked off after about half a mile). The cottage itself has been nicely renovated and was very clean. When we were there the central heating was on and it was cosy. There is a log burner, but we did not need it. Kitchen equipment is adequate but quite basic, there is toaster and microwave so ok for breakfast and simple meals. We found the bed uncomfortable and mentioned this to the owner and he has replaced the mattress. The second bedroom has two small single beds and is probably best suited to children.

Basic at best
On arrival we thought we had entered a scrap yard, the area around the so called cosy cottage is a accident waiting to happen, unfinished paths and drives, derelict building, most in a state of collapse. The so called farm is just not suitable for children. With the buildings as they are and unguarded drainage workings to a septic tank pit, it's a shambles, we run a b and b and would be ashamed to let any one come to the property. The cottage very basic, hardly equipped for more than a couple of days, the single beds are tiny and the room tiny with no hanging space. The double bed mattress was worn out and you could feel the springs through it. I'm glad we were cycling and spent little time there. It seriously needs looking at before it is advertised again.

Thank you so much for your very unfair and untruthful review, I feel in this instance this review needs to be answered on every point you have raised, so I will start at point 1 , exactly why you feel it is like entering a scrap yard I do not know, such a strange and untruthful thing to say, this is a farm yard and like most farm yards there are vehicles. but certainly no scrap on the yard, point 2, why exactly would you consider the area around the cottage an accident waiting to happen , I do not know, granted as our description very clearly says the outside grounds are not yet fully completed, but this is the drive not the area around the cottage, and it certainly is not an accident waiting to happen, you really should of read our very honest description before booking, point 3 derelict buildings mostly in a state of collapse, total and blatant lie, there is only one old ruin on the farm, which is right on the other side of the farm yard well away from the cottage, all the other farm buildings although several hundred years old, are in good order and in permanent use, point 4 you say the farm is not suitable for children, such a strange thing to say , as again in our description, we very clearly say not suitable for children, point 5 I have to partly concede to this, at the time you came work was being done on the soil pipes, normally this would never be done when guests are here, but sewage pipes are very critical, and unfortunately we had to do these repairs immediately, they were always covered with steel plates and marked with cones in between the work being done, Point 6, A shambles, really ? , This is clearly your opinion, thankfully the huge amount of 5 star and 4 star reviews will put this comment in it's true perspective, Point 7 My cosy cottage is an holiday let, so may be not have every single thing you will have at your home, but again our many reviews clearly say it has every thing you need and more for a holiday away, point 8 The single beds are tiny. ??? The single beds are small, but they are bigger than single beds you get in mobile homes, and the size of the beds again is very clearly stated in our listing, Which you clearly failed to read, point 9 you say the room is tiny, well clearly it is big enough to get two small single beds in, that can be placed together to make a normal size double bed, this is a country cottage, if you had actually stayed in other cottages in this area, you would realise that this room is actually on par or larger than many other cottage bedrooms, and pictures are available to view of all the rooms and sizes of the beds, and finally point 10, you say the mattress was worn out, actually it was only 2 years old, but so strange if it was so uncomfortable, you did not bother to even come and tell me, I'm sure you your self if running a bed and breakfast business never actually sleep in the guests bedrooms, on removing the bed covers, the bed looks to be perfect, no sags or any thing, but on lying on it it is very softly sprung, and I agree not very comfortable, so thank you for bringing this to my attention, and I immediately replaced the mattress, this could of been done for your stay if only you had said some thing, I'm truly sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us, and even more sorry you felt the need to leave such a unfair and untrue review, Thank fully we have a Certificate of Excellence from Tripadvisor based solely on our many excellent reviews, I do actually wonder why you would leave a review like this, but you are more than welcome to have your own opinion, I work very hard to ensure all my guests have a happy and pleasant stay, I am sorry you feel I did not live up to what you were expecting,

Fabulous
We had a lovely time staying here. Yan and Bernie are just lovely and made us feel so welcome. Sitting outside with a bottle of wine in the evening watching the swifts was great same in the morning when the swifts were feeding their babies. The cottage is small but perfect for our stay - Absolutely spotless. Yan brought us some cakes which were yummy thank you Yan. Nice pub up the road which served lovely meals and very friendly landlady. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting north wales - we came for zip world which was ace. I wish I was there now !
