Lovely cottage, idyllic setting, lots to do nearby
We stayed here for 1 week, with our 11y old son and dog. Beautiful cottage in idyllic setting, with view of dales front and back. Very peaceful. Immaculately clean and presented, with everything we needed and more! Thoughtful welcome food pack (incl delicious homemade biscuits) and kitchen cleaning things, aswell as all mod cons incl dishwasher, microwave, washing machine. Helpful and welcoming owners who live next door. Less than 10min walk to local pub. Lots of day trips and walks within easy drive incl Bolton Abbey, Aysgarth falls, Swinton estate/druids temple, Grassington (setting for latest All Creatures Great and Small!), moors… Lovely nearby town of Masham incl Black Sheep and Theakstons breweries, walks by river and Co-op shop. Perfect base for exploring North Yorkshire Dales.

Gorgeous comfortable cottage
Beautiful and clean cottage which has everything you need and is in a perfect location. Ginny came round to introduce herself (safe distance observed) which was nice as she gave us some info on some of reservoirs and local pubs. I was so pleased we had a washer as on of our days out walking we were walking on the public walkways through the fields and leading up to one of the gates I ended up knee deep in mud. So it was really good to be able to throw our clothes in the washing machine once we got back. The cottage is very comfortable and has amazing views, there is nothing negative to say about it. We went to Druids temple which is amazing and in a lovely forest where you can see Leighton Reservoir, we also went to Jervaulx Abbey and Tea Rooms, unfortunately the team rooms weren't open but the walk round the abbey was really nice surrounded by beautiful countryside. We will definitely be looking at returning to the cottage in the near future

Cozy, pristine cottage
Fabulous cottage. Pristine condition in an ideal location to explore this part of the Yorkshire Dales. As well as being immaculate the visit was enhanced by the additional little touches such as a welcome pack including extremely tasty biscuits! We would highly recommend the cottage and fully intend to revisit at some point in the future.

Pristine and very comfortable cottage
So pleased we found this cottage, just as described. Spotless and very comfortable well stocked with dishes and kitchen utensils. There was an abundance of goodies waiting for us like we have never had before. We agree with lots of other visitors, the biscuits were so yummy, recipe please😀. I have given five stars even though we couldn’t get the fire going , maybe because we are used to logs. We might get it right next time. Thank you so much for the coffee......

Fantastic cottage, highly recommended.
What a view! Just beautiful and idyllic, a welcome sight whatever the weather. Lovely cottage - clean, very well equipped, beautiful location, ideal spot. The open fire was an added bonus and the welcome basket provided was a very nice touch with some local preserve included. Everything you want in a self catering cottage is provided, you will need for nothing.

Pet friendly paradise.
We spent two weeks here in September, we know the area very well having visited or stayed in Fearby and Masham every year for the last thirty years. When we stay here we usually stay in a cottage in Fearby, which we like very much, however this year it was booked up for the weeks we wanted. Therefore we searched the booking sites and came up with Rowan Cottage, we know Healey very well, we almost bought a house there twenty years ago, so we knew what to expect from the surroundings. The cottage however, was far better than we expected the photos don't really do it justice, its much bigger in the flesh. Granted, there are one or two damp patches in the house, due to its age, but its beautifully decorated and its very warm and cosy and once we worked out how to set up the storage heaters we never needed to light the open fire (September wasn't the warmest this year despite the hot summer). The cottage is very well equipped, we had everything we needed and more besides, which in our experience is unusual. The decor is bright and clean and welcoming, white walls with a bright red theme running through the entire house. The bathroom is small, but big enough for the two of us and there was plenty of hot water. A very nice outdoor space, onto open fields at the back, up some quite difficult stone steps, but a very lovely front garden with views across the valley to Ilton. It was just a shame the weather was too cold to eat in the garden. There's a drive to park your car too, entrance is surrounded by a high hedge, which makes it difficult to see to get out, but if you reverse in, its OK, its a quiet road through Healey most days. WiFi is a bit hit and miss, but its enough, and depending on what network you're on, you might not get a mobile signal, Masham has always been bad for that, but it is better these days. Our Collie loved it too. ( I hope she didn't leave any dead grass spots on the lawn). The welcome pack is well thought out with useful items, especially the Rosebud jam ( the makers of which are just over the road, if you've never tried it, you don't know what you are missing). I can't thank the Beale family enough, they really make you feel welcome, they are there if you need anything, not intrusive when you don't. we have always avoided holiday lets that are close to the owner, we once had a bad experience where the owner was always there when you opened the door. Its not the case here. I hate to leave this review, because more people are likely to book it, and one thing is certain, we DO want to come back, I just hope its not fully booked before we get the chance, maybe not this coming year, but you never know. Thank you Ginny and Scott for letting us stay in your lovely cottage. See you soon.

Everything you could want and a whole lot more.
This cottage has everything you could want and a whole lot more. A real home from home, spotless, tastefully furnished, very comfortable bed and lots of lovely extra special touches that sets it apart from the ordinary everyday holiday rental. The views from the cottage are breathtaking and the location is second to none,, add to all this you have a private garden back and front, what more could you ask?
