Step outside and you’ll find a secure back garden. This includes a delightful sun terrace with outdoor seating so you can eat alfresco style during your stay. The property also has a bike store for up to five bikes - please note locks aren’t provided.
The living area includes two comfy sofas, an armchair, a wood burner and a flat screen TV with Netflix and Amazon prime available so you can retreat here to enjoy a cosy night in.
Take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find a king bedroom and a twin bedroom, which can be made up as a king bed if this is more suitable for your stay, as well as a WC. The third bedroom is located on the second floor and features a double bed, and wonderful views over the park to the river in the distance. You’ll find light colour schemes and crisp white bedding in every room to create tranquil spaces.
The family bathroom is located on the lower floor and includes a P shaped bathtub with an overhead shower, WC and basin.

Bitter-Sweet.... I would recommend River View, but NOT Host & Stay....
House is fine (House is on 4 floors, but bathroom is on lower ground floor, although there is a loo on 3rd Floor). Nice private rear garden area. River View is a somewhat misleading name - you cannot see the river... Very convenient for the Market Place, and centre of Masham. Clean and well-appointed property.
The downside: Host & Stay insurance not INCLUDED when booking!
Disliked · Host & Stay sent a very last-minute, and completely left-field, text saying that we either had to pay a £250 damage deposit (wording on the Booking.com page suggests 'fully refundable' BUT Host & Stay charge a £10 'admin' fee...) OR a £30 non-refundable insurance payment... or your booking will be CANCELLED - SHAMEFUL underhand tactic - THIS SHOULD BE MADE CLEAR BEFORE BOOKING IS ACCEPTED. H&S say this is clear on their site... it is actually way down the listing that very few people will notice. Look for yourself... Also, the lock box has black numbers and letters on black plastic. Despite having 20/20 vision... had to use a torch in daylight to differentiate numbers and letters to enter the code. Needs resolving....

Bitter-Sweet... I would recommend the venue, but not Host & Stay....
Second time friends and I have stayed at this property. Property is comfortable and clean. Very nicely situated for ease of access to facilities in Market Place, and centre of Masham. House is fine (although bathroom is on lower ground floor - for some this may be a fag due to stairs, although there is a loo on the third floor - house is on 4 floors - loft bedroom - bed is very tight to walls... ). The downside: Host & Stay insurance not INCLUDED when booking!

About the neighbourhood
The delightful market town of Masham is situated in the breathtakingly beautiful region of Lower Wensleydale. The town itself boasts a large Georgian market square, said to be one of the largest in England. With a range of local shops, tearooms and great places to eat, Masham is a popular destination all year round. Masham is also famous for its family-run breweries, steam engines and annual sheep fair. Both the Black Sheep Brewery and Theakston Brewery offer tours from their visitor centre.
With a thriving creative community, you can enjoy watercolour paintings, screen prints, poetry and much more from local artists. Miles of stunning walks and bike trails can be enjoyed from the doorstep which allow you to explore the surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales from morning until night. Masham is often part of the Tour De Yorkshire route so if you’re interested in road cycling, you’ll find plenty of great routes around the area.
There are plenty of places to explore during your stay including Swinton Park, Hackfall Woods, Thorpe Perrow Arboretum, Forbidden Corner, Lightwater Valley and The Wensleydale Railway to name a few. The popular towns of Ripon, Thirsk, Northallerton, Richmond and Harrogate are within easy reach so you’ll have plenty of new places to discover.

On street parking is available across the street for up to four vehicles on a first come, first served basis. There is also parking in the market square, as well as a long stay car park 5 minutes walk away - both with honesty boxes so we recommend bringing change!
