Modern Tropix is in a quiet zone atop a breezy ridge in natural, green surroundings. The elevation gives a panoramic view of the surrounding mountain ranges and of the Caribbean Sea, nearby.The residence overlooks neighboring apts and is a mere 15-minute's stroll to Picard Beach (to the south)...and to the Reception Platform for the Indian River canoe tours (to the North) - made famous by Disney and Johnny Depp as the witches' lair in Pirates of the Caribbean -Dead Man's Chest. Other nearby attractions within 10 minutes drive include the historic Fort Shirley and Cabrits National Park, Portsmouth City Center (with bustling nightlife) and the Kalinago territory with the Barana Aute - home to the indigenous peoples of the Caribbean.
Getting around
The residence is 5 minute's walk to Ross University Boulevard which can be seen in the foreground - the main public highway linking the capital, Roseau, to Portsmouth and the northern communities. On the Boulevard, regular public transportation can be taken to Portsmouth, the nearby communities, the capital and back. The beaches, Indian River and Cabrits National Park all in Portsmouth, are within comfortable hiking distance from the residence for the moderately fit. Private tours can be arranged for other site seeing trips on island to Emerald Pool, Trafalgar Falls, the hot spas of Wotten Waven and the Kalinago Territory.
