Swanage is a truly special place. Designed in keeping with the old Barbadian chattel house tradition, it is tastefully decorated and furnished to make it a definite home away from home. There are very few beach front villas in Barbados that puts you this close to the sea. Relax on the patio, watch the spectacular sunsets, sip a drink and look down at the ocean literally at your feet. Located right at the end of the fabulous South Coast Boardwalk The famous Accra (Rockley) Beach is 5 minutes walk up the board walk and Hilton & Coconut Court are both a few minutes walk down the beach. This villa is very central located right on a public transport route but is also a very tranquil beach front location. Renting a car is optional as there are many restaurants, shops, banking, tea & coffee...Swanage is a truly special place. Renting a car is optional as there are many restaurants, shops, banking, tea & coffee houses, bistros & spas within walking distance of the apartment. You can take the public transport to the local grocery store & they will drop you back free of charge. Hastings Historic Area: Hastings is part of the Historic Garrison Area of Barbados. It is the location of the Old Colonial Officers Quarters and Army Hospital, (now Pavilion Court) It is also the beach entrance to the new Boardwalk. The Savannah consists of the Main Guard, a beautiful Victorian building complete with a large collection of Old Cannons, the Barbados Turf Club (Horse Racing), the Museum, and a vast open area of sports grounds for Rugby, Football, Cricket and Basketball all surrounded by walking and running tracks. The South Coast Boardwalk: This fantastic boardwalk runs from Rockley Beach for approximately 1 kilometre towards Bridgetown. The boardwalk starts just below Accra Beach Hotel, running parallel to Hastings Main Road, stopping just short of Coconut Court. Not only does the boardwalk run side by side to the beautiful turquoise sea and white sand, but it has also been complimented with strategically planned view points and landscaped gardens, to let you enjoy the views of the South Coast and the incredible sunsets. The multi million dollar project has brought new life to the area, linking hotels and apartments, local restaurants and bars. The boardwalk opened in December 2008 and is being used by tourists and locals, either walking to the beach or local businesses, or simply utilizing the new facility to exercise, meet up with friends and enjoy the views. If you can dream of stepping out on your porch, with your morning beverage, to see the ocean on a tropical Island..... then this it it !! We stayed for 9 days. (Our first time there). This Cottage was very comfortable. We stayed Lower level which had everything we needed. Kitchen area that we used a lot. Living area sort of merged with the dining table... but open the window for a great view. Great location.... close to boardwalk. Very easy walking distance to several restaurants, in either direction. Reservations through TripAdvisors was very easy. Would we stay at Lower Swanage again......YES, in a heart beat.

This was our 7th year in Barbados, our 6th year in a row staying at Lower Swanage and we look forward to returning next year! Location, location, location... it's right on a great beach :) Amongst the list of likes: great kitchen, washer/dryer, A/C in the bedroom, fast Wifi, a great kitchen with a great view, TV/PVR... Tina & Philip (who manage the property) are really great; you can count on them! Many great restaurants within walking distance and your at the steps of the Boardwalk, which runs to Accra Beach. Walking distance to Carlisle Bay (aka Pebbles Beach). If you need to relax, look no further... you found your destination! Contact Tina well in advance... this place is booked several months in advance ;)

You could not get anywhere more perfectly situated than Lower Swanage! Sandy beaches, 7 yards from a beautifully warm sea, what's not to like! If you're lucky you'll see baby turtles hatch and head into the sea and/or see a turtle come onto the beach to lay her eggs. The locals are very friendly and helpful, local taxis run regularly so just stop one and jump in, really cheap too! The property itself is perfect for 1 or 2 people with everything you could possibly need nearby e.g. supermarkets, restaurants, bars and the infamous St. Lawrence Gap and Oistins. Sit on the balcony and watch the sun set over this beautiful Island whilst listening to the waves crashing in the sea This is my first time in this property and it has given me some happy memories I shall treasure, it is a popular property and I've already booked my slot for next year! The owners couldn't be two nicer people, Philip and Tina met me at the property, gave me local information and bought me a couple of things they knew I liked as a welcoming gift. For me this property was the perfect find and is now my holiday destination and property to rent for the foreseeable future.

This was our 3rd visit to Barbados and our 3rd stay at Swanage - first time, Swanage just the 2 of us; 2nd time with our kids in upper Swanage; and 3rd time with our kids and parents in both units. We love this location and the apartments are perfect for hanging out on site or for visiting the many beautiful sites of Barbados. Great for eating in or going out. Being right on the beach is amazing and the boardwalk to Accra beach is also a highlight, with many nice restaurants along the way (Blakey's and Tapas were favourites for us). We also love the Tikki bar at the other end of Accra beach (try the Mojitos). We rented a car all 3 times and visited different parts of the Island which we also loved - Mullin's Bay on the upper west coast, the Roundhouse restaurant and the soup bowl on the east coast, and Crane beach on the south east coast are all highlights. We also enjoyed the catamaran trips to swim with the turtles. This last time we also went to the horse racing at the Garrison which was well worth the visit. Tina and Phil are great and always available for advice - this last time we enjoyed hearing Phil play with a local band at Blakey's. Highly reoommended to all who can make it to Barbados - a great holiday destination. We will go back with more friends!!!

Breakfast and lazy glasses of wine on the balcony overlooking the Atlantic, a short walk from an easy going and eclectic boardwalk which skirts the beach and offers everything a foodie could desire: a farmer's market with a cafe with gluten free, vegan and veggie offerings, a vegan restaurant, food stalls, sea side bars and high end Tapas and Japanese restaurants. Hop in a ZR van or bus and you're quickly at Oistin's fish fry, or like us, take a leisurely stroll along the beach to Bridgetown in the morning. This was an ideal location to see and do it all, and a relaxing place to unwind!

We have just returned from two wonderful weeks spent at Lower Swanage, it was all we hoped for and more. The apartment was very spacious, well equipped, plenty of storage space in fact everything we needed. However once the doors were opened onto the verandah that's when the 'wow' factor really kicked in. We were right on the beach just a few metres from the sea, the views were just stunning. It was just such a perfect setting to sit and soak up the best of the Caribbean. We were just at the end of the boardwalk which was good for walking and accessed several restaurants, our favourite being Tapas, and in the other direction we could walk along the beach as far the Garrison. The beach was lovely and it was wonderful to swim the in the sea so close to the turtles. Tina and Philip were very helpful with arranging taxis and booking a rental car and were always on hand if we needed them. We can't wait to return, definitely the best beach holiday we have had!

Stayed in upper swanage apparent which is the two bed apartment above lower swanage.. fantastic is all I can say.. it was clean and suitably equipped that we wanted for nothing at all. The sea was crystal clear and the sand was clean and amazing... This is what Barbados is about and this is what we had an amazing time in the perfect place... been to Barbados 4 times and will always stay here every time.

Lower Swanage is such a treat. Everything you need to be able to enjoy an island vacation is all in one place. The kitchen opens on to the fabulous deck that sits right on the sand. The view of the beach is priceless. Being right at the end of the Boardwalk along the South Coast makes this location so easy to get around. If you enjoy exercising, it is so easy to get in an early walk/run. There are restaurants and bars all along to make it easy to access. The beach in front is very shallow yet perfect for cooling down and relaxing. Definitely a place we will return to on our next trip to Barbados. Tina and Philip are wonderful hosts and were always available if we had any questions. Thank you so much for making our trip one to remember!

overall an absolute wonderful experience and Tina & Phillip were excellent in their explanation and orientation at the property. They met us at a known landmark after we arrived and guided us to the property (Lower Swanage) which sat directly on the beach. The villa's large open bay doors and windows allowed for some spectacular views and I would book this property over all the hotels on that island. The villa came equipped with every amenity we would need and even had beach towels. The ease of checking in and out by Phillip and Tina made the first and last day enjoyable without the stress so we can take in every last moment. I will certainly be booking this property when we decide to go back for another visit and I recommend it to all that read this! Enjoy and Thanks Tina & Phillip!! -Brian & Lynda (Southern California) USA

Just returned from a fantastic holiday, and it was wonderful staying at Lower Swanage. The location is perfect, right on the beach, just by the end of the Southcoast Boardwalk, so an easy walk to bars, restaurants, supermarkets. Tina & Philip were very helpful, organising car hire and taxis for us. We will be coming back to Barbados, and will look to book Lower Swanage, or another of their properties.
