Beautiful Cottage, Excellent Location.
We spent a lovely few day at The Cobbles over the New Year period and would certainly return.
This beautiful cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and provided all the facilities one could need for a very comfortable stay. It was warm, spotlessly clean, and peaceful.
The village is charming, and the local community friendly and helpful. There is a convenient grocery store close by and some excellent pubs serving excellent food.
This is an ideal spot for walking the North Yorkshire countryside and exploring the villages and market towns nearby.
I would recommend this cottage.

A perfect place to stay
We found the cottage perfect for a family holiday. Osmotherley is a picturesque village with plenty of easily accessible walks. There are excellent local pubs and a well-stocked village shop. Northallerton is nearby for a wider variety of shops and supermarkets.
The house itself has been beautifully modernised with plenty of seating, comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen and ultra modern bathrooms. After walking on the moors we greatly appreciated the 'wet' room for drying our gear (and the dog).
There was plenty of information available to plan our day trips locally, to York and to the seaside.
It's a great place to stay with many happy memories. We hope to return.
Highly recommended!

Immaculate cottage in heart of pretty North York Moors village
We loved this spacious traditional village house, which has been refurbished to an extremely high standard with tasteful quality furnishing and fittings. Right in the heart of the village, there are gastropubs on the doorstep, and immediate access to wonderful walks on the North York Moors. The Cleveland Way passes through Osmotherly, and is a spectacular walk in either direction up on to the moor, with extensive views across to the Pennines one way and the North Sea the other. We were there over New Year, and enjoyed the cosy warmth of the wood-burner in addition to the central heating throughout. Highly recommended - we'll definitely be back!

Delightful cottage in the heart of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors
We enjoyed using this cottage as our base during a cycling holiday in this wonderful part of the world. The property itself is a delight, very tastefully finished and well-equipped; and the outside space is lovely in the sunshine.
Meanwhile the cycling is first class, with plenty of low traffic routes right from the door in terrific scenery. For those that wish a challenge there are plenty of off-road trails too for cyclists and hikers.
Osmotherley itself is a lovely village to stay in with good pubs / eateries.
We thoroughly recommend a stay here . . .

A lovely cottage in a most beautiful part of the country
This is a really lovely cottage which has been renovated to a very high standard. We had everything we could possible need, including very comfortable beds. The village store is close and the local pubs excellent. Osmotherley itself is a gorgeous village and a great base for exploring the North Yorkshire countryside , which is not only a most beautiful area for walking but rich in interesting and historic places to visit.
I am delighted to recommend The Cobbles and can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful place let down by agents
We stayed here in October and the location and property were perfect. Unfortunately on our arrival the accomodation had not been cleaned. Crumbs were still on the work tops of the kitchen, the floor was unclean with stains and crumbs and there were stains on the sofas but worst of all there was faeces on the walls of the toilet. This was reported immediately and a cleaner was sent out almost 24 hours after our arrival. With COVID still so present and the constant need to maintain hygiene so important, this was a real concern. With a 3 hour journey with a toddler not really an option, we stayed and did some cleaning ourselves. That set aside our break was wonderful and we fell in love with the location. It is just such a shame that the letting agents didn't do this place justice and were so reluctant to see our point of view (offering to refund us only the fee of the housekeeping which hadn't been done and failing to return calls and emails).
This is a beautiful property in a beautiful place but really does need TLC between visits.

Perfect Holiday Cottage
Our family adore this cottage. It is a home from home. Refurbished a couple of years ago to a high standard with no expense spared. Exceptionally comfortable. Clean, comfortable beds, excellent showers! I cannot recommend this wonderful cottage more highly. Enclosed garden with new table and chairs. Pretty summer house.
Osmotherly is a delightful village with several pubs serving food, a discreet fish and chip shop, a tea room and a stylish village shop. Ideally located for walking the moors and touring Yorkshire.
We have stayed here a few times. What is sad is that other visitors, judging by the odd mark, do not respect this property as much as we do and are light fingered.
I noticed this time that various items that were present before are now missing - hanging shelving on clothes rack in twin room and some kitchen items.
However this did not distract from our stay. Just sad for the owner as this gives reason for others to leave unfair reviews.

''A Home from home''
The Cobblers cottage is a charming cottage located in the centre of Osmotherley village in the Yorkshire Dales. Its a home from home beautifully decorated and well appointed, where you can expect a warm Yorkshire welcome from the villagers and businesses alike, where breathtaking walks await you. The Golden Lion Gastro Pub is well worth a visit serving a wonderful array of gastro food to choose from with a friendly atmosphere and professional staff on hand to serve you. The Village Store is a wonderful store selling groceries, fresh fruit & veg, meat and fresh breads with a wide variety of local producers produce on sale. It also serves teas and coffees with freshly make sandwiches and cakes.

A disappointing trip
The cottage didn't live up to the picture depicting it. Whilst it was reasonably equipped it lacked the 'wow' factor. Things would have made it more comfy if there had been curtains across the patio doors, the small window in the lounge, and the bathroom.
The rubbish bins had not been emptied from the previous occupants. There were marks on the walls in the kitchen in particular.
There were no wardrobes but portable hanging rails, and the one in the double bedroom was very flimsy indeed.
There was no starter pack of logs for the wood burner. The wall in the former garage, which housed a WC. showed damp patches of plaster.
Overall I felt that for what was on offer the fee of £1500 for seven nights was rather steep.
It was disappointing as we had booked the place as a base from which to attend my niece's wedding.
