Holiday Rental House -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 4
Salt Cay, Turks and Caicos
Salt Cay is the island that time forgot. Quiet, secluded, but with world class diving. The humpback whales come from the north atlantic to calf and mate for next season, and Salt Cay is one of the few spots you can still snorkel with the whales. Diving is on small skiffs with small groups, individual attention. Snorkeling from shore with the reefs just off shore - not boat rides away. Hiking and biking around the island will let you see the past of this historical island, where salt was raked and shipped to Canada, Britain and US. Birding up close with herons, osprey etc.

The Home is a completely restored Salt Raker home. The walls are roughly 2-3 feet thick and make for a cool interior. Ceiling fans complete bringing in the breezes. The back patio is covered with BBQ, and furniture. The upper deck is great for viewing the ocea...

About the neighbourhood
Salt Cay is a quiet historical area, once the main salt producing island and a busy hub of over 1000 people. Now there are about 100 residents on Salt Cay, as most have left for jobs elsewhere once the salt industry stopped. Now it is a destination for quiet, relaxed, friendly times, and some of the best snorkeling and diving you will have. Secluded pristine beaches where your footprints may be the only ones you see. Whales swimming by while you have a drink at the café, visit with a ray or dolphin while diving. Come for experiences you will never forget. Go fishing with one of the locals - then cook your own supper or have Pat or Enya cook it for you.
Getting around
Bikes are included with the house for guests to explore the island.
Car not needed
