The villa has 3 bedrooms on the ground floor, each with patio doors out to the pool area. The open plan dining and living space, on the first floor, is adjacent to the kitchen. Patio doors lead out to a balcony terrace. In the living area: there is a TV and DVD player (large collection of DVD's), a radio/CD/USB/iPod player, provided for your entertainment. UK Freeview channels, are available through an IP TV set-top-box, streaming via the internet connection. The TV is a Smart TV, enabling you to use some online services, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, if you have your own account.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, ceramic hob, washing machine, slimline dishwasher and American fridge freezer with ice-maker and water dispenser.
Situated in a quiet lane, with a pool and barbeque terraces to the rear, the villa is very private. The pool (8x4m) has offset steps at the shallow end and underwater lighting for safe bathing after dark. There are ample sun beds to take advantage of both sun and shade. A traditional Menorcan chimney barbeque is on a large paved terrace adjacent to the pool, just waiting for you to cook up a wonderful outdoor feast.The villa is located less than 3-minutes walk from the sea front and the Alua Soul Menorca Hotel. A 5-minute stroll (400 meters) will bring you to a small selection of shops, restaurants and a small supermarket. The hotels in the resort generally admit non-residents to their restaurants and entertainment evenings.
S'Algar is on the South East Coast of the Island, and is one of the best-kept resorts in Menorca. It is an ideal base whether you prefer a relaxing holiday or choose to be more active. A variety of pursuits are close by and these include scuba diving, bowling, tennis and swimming. There are interesting walks along the coast, one of which will take you to the historic cove at Alcaufar.
Car hire is not essential at this villa but is recommended in order to see more of this beautiful island.

The property may not be suitable for very young children (toddlers) because there are a number of steps and no way to block off access to the pool. However, people with toddlers have rented the property, without any problem. You need to be aware, alert, and keep an eye on very young children.
We had a wonderful family holiday with our children and grandchildren staying at the Yorkshire Rose
The villa was well located with sea views from the terrace where we enjoyed our al fresco breakfasts and lunches.
The accommodation was well laid out and met all of our requirements
The pool was very beautiful and well maintained with some great sunbathing and shaded areas to choose from.
Only a few minutes walk to the mini market for our our daily requirements which was perfect and restaurants are an easy walk away.
A few minutes walk to sea and a beautiful beach close by which we all loved.
We had a couple of routine queries whilst there and Lynne was amazingly responsive and helpful

Fantastic family accommodation
I can’t thank you enough for handling our booking and providing such fantastic accommodation Lynne. Your flexibility with our booking and communication through covid changes gave me confidence to continue with the booking.
The villa has a friendly personal feel, set in a great location with restaurants and the sea near by.

Family get away
Finally, after a 2 yr delay my family have just returned from our wonderful holiday in this beautiful villa. We all had a wonderful time, we are a 3 generation group that all have different interests, but love our family holidays together.
We each had a bathroom with our bedrooms, which were well equipped, clean and comfortable. The pool was fabulous, especially after a day out exploring the local area. We had bbq’s on the balcony after cocktails by the pool, aided by the ice machine on the fridge door.
We tried the local restaurants and prefered El Pirata, that catered for our varied tastes including vegetarian.
The coastal path to the north led us to a beautiful cove and the path to the south round to a lovely beach.
The vineyard at Binifadet was an amazing day, exquisite wines, sublime food and really attentive staff. The local shops were well stocked or a short journey to Sant Lluis to a well stocked supermarket.
The flights from Gatwick were hassle free, just needing face masks and covid passes. No queues or delays.
A truly wonderful time was had by all.
Thank you Lynne for renting your villa out, it’s been a real treat.

Great villa in a quieter location
We absolutely loved our stay in Menorca and it was made all the easier by the wonderful accommodation. The pool and loungers were a great way to unwind and the villa had all of the amenities we needed for our ten day stay. The chilled water filter in the fridge was brilliant. There is a local minimarket and two bars within walking distance which serviced our needs for most of the holiday. The owner and agent were very helpful in planning our stay and offered good advice on possible destinations for a good meal or day out. We were very pleased with our stay and would consider coming again thanks.

Great place to stay !
We stayed at the Yorkshire Rose for a week and throughly enjoyed a relaxing week at this lovely villa , the pool was fantastic and many an hour was spent relaxing and enjoying the sunshine .
As we were a group of eight it was ideal having four bedrooms along with four bathrooms , 3 x bedrooms lead directly on to the pool area which was nice.
The kitchen , lounge and outside dining area was spacious, it was great to have a washing machine , dishwasher and large modern television at our disposal.
We eat a number of times locally , visited Mahon travelling on the bus , which took approximately 20 minutes , from a stop just up the road .
In all we had a great week and should we ever visit Menorca again would certainly return to the Yorkshire Rose.
Lynne , the owner was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with .

lovely villa in a fabulous resort
The location of the villa was central to where we wanted to be, meaning we didn't have that far travel to get to local shops, restaurants etc. The villa was spacious to allow all 8 plus a small one the luxury of being able to be altogether or sometimes on our own. The pool was large enough for every one to enjoy, and it was used all the time, sometimes at night when it was too hot to sleep a wee dip in the pool certainly cooled you down enough to get to sleep. The barbeque was used frequently and was easy to set up, the fully equipped kitchen was great and we cooked many lovely meals. It would have been good to have had something else for the kids to do, as villa next door had a pool table. The ants were annoying and we did our best to keep the villa and patio area clear from crumbs etc. Apart from that wee issue it was overall a fantastic stay.

Sorry you experienced a bit of an issue with ants, the property is sprayed regularly to discourage them, but this year has been particularly hot and rife with insects. Cleaning up crumbs and spills is strongly advised, and regularly removing any rubbish away from the property, to the dustbins. It's also worth washing out empty cans and bottles, before recycling, because it doesn't take much sweet, sticky stuff - to attract the ants.

perfect and relaxing, home from home villa.
This was our 3rd visit to this excellent villa.
It is in a ideally situated location within a small quiet area.
We were there in a party of six adults and the four bedrooms worked really well for us.
The villa's amenities were excellent for the times that we ate in, you have everything that you have at home available to you.
It has a large pool area and a fantastic pool that really helped cool you down in the hot weather we had.
We had 2 barbecue's on the purpose built barbecue area.
A 3 minute walk down to the sea front takes you to a small square where there are 2 restaurants, a supermarket, and a bakery for fresh bread and cakes.
We found La Pirata bar was friendly for drinks and food expertly run by Sammy and his dad Toni.
We hope to visit this villa again in the near future.

A lovely well appointed villa, lovely quiet location. Pool area fab. Loved the ice machine in the fridge freezer!
The resort is lovely and quiet too. A bit of a shame that the restaurants (and there's not much choice) were very English tourist fare. They weren't awful for what they were though.
The supermarket on the square is good and we got everything we needed, more than that though, the owners were great, even gave us a free lift home one time as we'd spent a fair bit, bottle of free wine another time.
Lynn, villa owner, was fab throughout, really helpful and friendly.
Overall would definitely recommend ss long as you're not too fussy about the local restaurants.

La casa esta muy bien, muy bien cuidada y no le falta detalle. Limpia y piscina genial. Un par de notas para los q lleven niños muy pequeños la cass tiene muchas escaleras y si tus hijos no las saben usar debes llevar alguna barrera de escaleras. Pues la zona de hacer vida esta en la primera planta.
La casa carece de aire acondicionado pero realmente alli no se necesita. Estuvimos con ola de calor en la peninsula y por la noche se dormia muy bien.
La ubicacion esta un poco ladeada. Sinquieres ir a las playas del oeste es una hora por contra las playas del este y centro las tienes a 30 min. En este punto no existe la perfeccion.
La zona donde esta es muy tranquila. Si quieres ir de compras o a pasear con cierto ambiente de garitos y tiendas tienes q pillar el coche. Para nosotros q ibamos con niños pequeños mejor asi.
Sin mas muy recomendable.

Beautiful, spacious villa for a holiday with friends or family.
We had a lovely week here with friends plus our teenage son. The villa is very spacious with easily enough room for 8 people. A huge American style fridge freezer kept all our refreshments cold, we didn't really use the oven in the house but we did use the BBQ a couple of times. The grounds of the villa are spacious and well kept - I particularly liked the Oleanders and the very impressive Palm trees.
We ate out most nights and the bars around S'Algar our pretty good but we went to Es Castel for out last night meal. We also walked along the coast path to Alcalfar where there was a good bar and snorkelling.
The roads in Menorca are extremely good and it's easy to pick up the main roads from S'Algar. The real winner though was the pool, we spent a lot of time in it and the neighbours who left the day after we arrived very generously left us lilos and a couple of bag of food and drink. Lilo racing is a great sport if you don't mind losing your dignity.
Communication with the owner was very prompt and they were flexible about what time we had to leave the property.

S'Algar Resort is on the south east coast of the island; a small purpose built resort, ideal for those seeking a quiet, relaxing holiday. An ATM is located outside the hotel on the seafront, if you need cash. It is important to point out that S'Algar does not have a beach, although there is access to swim in the sea via steps from the rocks/sea platform.
There is a sand beach in the pretty cove of Alcaufar, accessible via a coastal path walk (1km) or a 5-min car ride (2.5km). Punta Prima (6km) and Binibecca (7.5km) beaches are only a short drive away. Punta Prima also has a water park.
S'Algar offers a number of amenities: small supermarket and a small selection of bars, restaurants and cafes.
Getting around
There is a public bus service into Mahon, from where you can get a connecting bus to almost anywhere on the Island. The buses run approximately every hour, the nearest bus stop, is located on 1st Avenue, a road that runs parallel to Calle 23, (one street up from the villa).
There is a taxi rank sign on 2nd Avenue, near the round about, at the entrance of the resort, although taxis do not queue/wait here, the sign post gives a phone number to call a taxi.

How to get there
Flights to Menorca are direct from most UK airports, taking approx 2.5 hrs, throughout the season (May to October).Taxis are readily available at Mahon airport, the journey takes approx 15 minutes and cost approx 25 euros. If driving from the airport the road journey is straight forward, and will take 15-20 minutes.
Sant Lluis, is clearly sign posted from the airport, at the roundabout into Sant Lluis take the second exist - onto the dual carriageway, (which bypasses the narrow main streets of Sant Lluis). Take the third exit on the roundabout at the end of Sant Lluis, sign post for Alcaufar, about 3.5 km along the road, there is a (left turn) sign post for S'Algar.
Follow the road into S'Algar and take the first exit at the roundabout. Calle 23 is the first street on the left, and the second building on the right, is where the villa is located.
Note: Calle 23 is a one-way street (no entry), so you need to drive around the block and enter from the opposite end of the street, in order to park on the villa drive, alternatively you can park in one of the parking bays on this road (2nd Avenue), and walk up to the villa.
