Air Conditioning in both bedrooms. FREE WIFI. Warm cozy modern beach style condo. Clean open kitchen with lots of cooking supplies for large families. The living area is large, high ceilings and open with lots of natural light, especially in the morning. The 2 bedrooms are similar w/comfortable queen beds in each, Air conditioning and windows for fresh air. We also have a queen size airbed suitable for two young children or small adults that can be set up in the living room. There are plenty of fans throughout. Please note: our unit is on the top floor/3rd floor (great views! will need to climb some stairs as there is no elevator). Amenities include: HotTub/Jacuzzi -TWO Pools -Tennis Courts- Basketball Courts, FREE WIFI, TV/Cable/DVD/VHS, Balcony/Deck

Hidden Jewel West Side
This is the perfect area to go to get out of busy Waikiki but is well within driving distance. It is a quiet country setting with only the noises of the birds and peacocks. The mountain breezes are cool and refreshing and the views beautiful. The condo was well kept and spacious. The owner was easy to work with and addressed any questions or issues that came up. There are two pools on property and the community is gated and has very good security. It was perfect for us to get away from the New England winter and we stayed there from Feb. 1, 2012 til May 19,2012.

it's very beatiful and peacefull
The room has an awesome view, clean and quiet. Owner are very helpfull. The area is well kept, has garbage chute and the laundry area is convenient.

Great Stay!
First time staying on the West shore and this didn't disappoint. Gated community minutes from Makaha Beach and not a far drive from anywhere you decide to go.
Locals were all friendly and nice and quiet compared to Waikiki. Condo has everything you could possibly need and was very clean and organized. Owner was helpful and communicated well.
Would certainly stay here again without question and would recommend to a friend.

Great place to see the quiet side of Oahu
My family rented this unit for our annual Girls trip. It has the great views as promised and was next to a lot of local beaches. The Condo was well stocked with the kitchen necessities and Morgan had a great little stock of movies to choose from for entertainment. It was as promised - clean, quiet and comfortable.
I would recommend this rental 100%, but would caution that you will need a car (and and early start) to be able to get from place to place. The condo is located on a more "locals only" side of the island. Be prepared to drive at least 30 min if you want to do any thing touristy.
The condo is a short 5 min drive to the beaches where the road washed out a while back. This was great for early morning walks next to the ocean. I would recommend it more for people that have been to Oahu before, since it is kinda out of the way.

Hygiene und Sauberkeit in der Unterkunft
Nach Eintreffen in der Condo war diese sehr schmutzig: Der Boden musste von uns gefegt werden, die Schubladen für Kleidung im Schlafzimmer waren mit Sand verschmutzt, im Kühlschrank befanden sich noch Lebensmittelreste des Vormieters, welche sofort entsorgt werden mussten, um Krankheiten zu vermeiden, das Geschirr musste vor Gebrauch gereinigt werden, im Bad befand sich eine Kakalake.
Leider verfügt die Condo über keinen Freisitz und die bereitgestellten Ventilatoren waren teilweise defekt. Es waren viele nützliche Dinge vorhanden, aber alles in einem schmuddeligen Zustand. Die berechneten 140,00 USD für die Endreinigung finden wir nicht gerechtfertigt.

I don't understand German very well but from what I gather he was very impressed with the cleanliness and was hoping to clean before he left but was running out of time because he was busy cleaning his wifes boots all morning. Apparently they were full of sand.

Makaha is a hidden gem.
We had a great time at Morgan's place. It had everything we needed, and was a great home base.
We travelled the island, visited Honolulu, climbed Diamond Head, visited the North Shore and various shops and beaches up there, ate Shave Ice, visited Pearl Harbor, snorkeled at Hanauma Bay, and surfed at Army Beach. But our favourite beach was Makaha Beach - right by Morgan's place. We swam with turtles and found cool fish (felt like I was in Finding Nemo). We brought our own snorkels/masks/flippers, so we had no end of ocean exploring. We hiked a few times up by the condo and got to know the locals.
We were invited twice for BBQs from people we met around the island, and one lady tried to match her daughter up with our son. We even attended a Christmas production at a local Hawaiian church. It was better than any broadway show. So well done. Suffice to say we found everyone very friendly and the condo suited our family well.

So glad you had a chance to enjoy the true island life. Good people, gorgeous beaches. Hope you got a chance to get out to Yokohama Beach too. Its only 5 minutes further up the road from Makaha Beach. Pure white sand and turquiose water. Bliss!

Beautiful Stay
It was so nice to have a well equipped house and a fully stocked kitchen of every gadget we could ever need. Was a little disappointed to see we had a mountain view not a ocean view, but it was very quiet and peaceful. With a well gated community and friendly people. One FYI if you visit the local grocery store Tempura (?) make sure to bring your own reuseable bags or they charge you .10 cents a bag.

We like to cook and hope you do to. So, we keep it well supplied. Tamura is a great market close to the condo where you'll find locally grown produce and locally caught fresh fish. From the Lanai you CAN see the ocean BTW:-)

Breathtaking Views
We got what was described and pictured. No surprises. Had a wonderful time with our family. Everything was as Morgan described. Wish there was a dishwasher but oh well, we were in "paradise" so washing dishes wasn't too bad. Third floor gave Amazing Views of ocean in front with mountains surrounding. Loved the local birds and friendly neighbors, also the beautiful landscape! Thank you so much Morgan for allowing us the use of your vacation home, it made our time with our son even better!

My top floor unit is one of only a few with high ceiling windows with ocean and mountain views. The Plumeria tree outside has amazing birds at dawn and dusk and while blooming, you can smell the flowers from the condo's Lanai.

Very enjoyable, relaxing and peaceful amongst the local people not in the rat race of touristy Waikiki.
We did not rent a car and used the local bus system to travel everywhere which was great but time consuming. The accommodation is at least an hour from Honolulu and Waikiki so travelling on a bus late at night is not ideal, however the bus does stop outside the condo complex. The condo facilities are comfortable with access to 2 pools, it is on the 3rd floor with stair access only which is hard with heavy luggage, however being higher up means there are sea views and the benefit of fresh breezes. We found the owner friendly and approachable.

I strongly recommend renting a car. I find the best deals on Kayak.com that compares many sites. That said, I often take the bus from and to the airport. However, they don't allow luggage. So, carry on's and backpacks only. It's also a convenient way to get to Makaha Beach (2 minutes down the road). Or to a local market. It's $2.25 so you can't beat that. The bus stops right out front every 20-30 minutes. and goes all the way to Waikiki. But, as mentioned. There are many stops. So, you might want to keep it local.
Each of the 2 pools have full brick BBQ grills and covered seating. also Jacuzzi's with strong adjustable jets. There are also more BBQ grills close to the condo. Hawaiians love their BBQ's :)

West Shore getaway
This is a good, affordable alternative to the hustle and bustle of Honolulu.
We traveled all around Oahu yet were able to settle down in a relaxing setting at night.
My wife and daughter absolutely loved that Makaha Beach was only minutes away and took in the sunsets many nights. I liked being able to soak in hot tub after a long day of activities.
Owner provided a book with tips for nearby shopping, activities and menus for local restaurants. Laundry was in nearby building and easy to use.
Two suggestions/tips for anyone renting:
1. Grocery stores are nearby, but if you're making a trip to anywhere else on the island just stop at Target near Exit 1 on H1 and you can pick up supplies for less money.
2. It takes a little longer to travel to and from the condo during normal commute times. Plan your trips accordingly and you won't have any problems.
