This attractive, family-friendly house offers VisitScotland 4-Star self-catering accommodation, and holds a Walkers and Cyclists Welcome Award.

Situated on the outskirts of the village of Newtonmore, Strathspey on a quiet road leading up into beautiful Glen Banchor - one of Speyside's secret treasures - the house is set in a woodland garden with a barbecue area and swing. Well-equipped, spacious, comfortable and warm, Netherwood provides a delightful combination of up-to-date facilities and the Highland charm of a substantial stone, lodge-style house.

Although the house has beds for 12 people, it is not suitable for 12 adults. 2 of the bedrooms are for children as are the flip out beds in the games room. It would suit 3 couples with children.

Interaction with guests
We have a caretaker who is on hand in case of any emergencies and she will have the house ready for guests' on arrival. There are leaflets and brochures in the house with suggestions of things to do in the area. A folder is provided with all the instructions for appliances etc in the house.

The house is perfectly situated for a family get together lots of things to do with the kids in the surrounding area and they just adored the swings and garden. The house was well equipped (kitchen especially) and the rooms are all very big so...More

About the neighbourhood
In the centre of beautiful countryside with ample visitor attractions - beautiful Lochs and hills to suit all abilities. Nearby Loch Insh and Loch Morlich can both offer a range of water sports. The Highland Wildlife Park is only 7 miles away with the new polar bear cubs as the star attractions! Aviemore with plenty of outdoor shops, cafes and restaurants is a quick 20 minute drive up the road. There is something for everyone in this lovely Highland area with plenty to challenge all ages
Getting around
There is a train station in the village which connects to Kingussie, Aviemore and Inverness. Buses run between all the villages too. A car is best for exploring, however.

How to get there
Directions: Turn off the A9 from the South, drive into Newtonmore. Half way along the main street, turn left up Glen Road opposite the village hall. Approximately 1/4 mile up Glen Road, Netherwood is on the right hand side, above the road. There is a signpost at the front gate. The postcode is PH20 1EA.
