Holiday Rental House
Are you looking for an authentic island house to rent? JOYANNE is a perfect example of a typical Aegean island house. It has been owned by us for nearly 40 years and sympathetically restored and fully modernised so as to retain features associated with the architectural culture of Paros. It is a single storey building, quite small inside, being just 42sq m overall. WiFi, with a very strong signal, is available in the house free of charge. Outside, the stone walls have been rendered and painted white, as they would have been 150 years ago when it was built. There are shuttered wooden windows and panelled double doors. Inside are arched doorways, original wooden doors, a stone floor and inset wall cupboards with period handles. The living room has a variety of chairs and tables plus a traditional stone seat often found in these old houses. On one side of the room is a dedicated kitchen area where completely new units were fitted in 2016. The ceilings are high so as to keep the inside cool and finished with varnished pine beams. There is electricity, hot and cold running water, mains drainage and an air conditioning unit. Off the living room is a smart, fully tiled shower room which includes a pedestal washbasin and low suite WC. There are 2 small double bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other having 2 single beds. The compactness of the house makes it best suited for 2 adults plus up to 2 young children. We do not recommend any greater occupancy. Outside there are double gates leading to a private sun terrace with a pergola providing shelter from the midday sun. There are 4 garden chairs and matching table. It has extensive views over the island's mountains. There is WiFi in the house (free) with a strong signal. Joy-Anne's location is perhaps its strongest feature. Situated only 5 minutes level walk from the port along traffic free streets, Joy-Anne is in a short cul de sac (again traffic free) comprising about a dozen similar properties. The main shopping and market streets are both less than 100 metres away. This street is generally quiet and calm. Tavernas, shops, bakery, pharmaceuticals, bus station and banks are all very close nearby. PARIKIA is the central hub in the Aegean for all ferries with boats going to many other islands - Mykonos, Santorini, Naxos, Ios, Syros, Sifnos, Amorgos, Rhodes and more. This is a SMALL house which is reflected in the very reasonable rental. Joy-Anne is available to rent throughout the year. During the Autumn/Winter/Spring months (October - April inclusive) there is a special low rate. Bookings in this period are for a minimum of 2 weeks. Longer bookings attract an even lower rate.More

Interaction with guests
We have a local lady agent who will always meet guests at the port and walk them to our house. Her name is Lori and she is available at all reasonable times to help out with any problems which might arise and she will change bed sheets every week. There is a washing machine in the house but it is for use by our house-keeper only. Washing of clothes can be arranged however. We provide towels for use in Joyanne, but not for the beach. Check in time is 2pm but this may be flexible - please ask. Check out time is 10am but this may be flexible - please ask.

This place has everything. From the proximity of the narrow twisting, brightly coloured bustling shopping streets of Parikia a hundred metres away to the tranquility of the quiet cul de sac where the house is situated. Yet you are within a 10 minute walk from...More

Thank you for your kind words. It is always a pleasure to know that our guests have loved the island of Paros and our house as much as we do.

We love staying in Joyanne, it never disappoints! This is the first time we have been to Paros in August, but it was wonderful - busy and buoyant, but always easy to find a restaurant and a spot on the beach. Lovely to be able...More

About the neighbourhood
PARIKIA is a bustling small town, compact, but with good road links and excellent bus services. It is the transport hub of the Aegean with ferries calling daily for many other islands. But within a few minutes walk there are long, quiet sandy beaches with very safe swimming. All over the island there are historic buildings and sites, in particular the Church of One Hundred Doors in Parikia which is 1,500 years old. The bus station is by the Windmill, on the front and from here you can travel to all parts of the island, especially the airport, Naoussa, Aliki, Lefkes and Piso Livadi. The buses also go to Pounda from where a ten minute ferry journey takes you to Anti Paros. Alternatively, throughout the summer a ferry leaves Parikia harbour.
How to get there
FROM THE UK there are flights from Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, Manchester Bristol and some other regional airports to ATHENS and also MYKONOS and SANTORINI, A ferry connection is then needed to reach PAROS. Athens/Paros takes as little as 3 hours by hi speed ferry. Mykonos/Paros is 45 minutes on the hi speed ferry. The main airlines flying to Athens & Mykonos are Easyjet, British Airways and Aegean. There are up to 11 flights a day from Athens International airport to the new airport in Paros. From Paros airport to the town of Parikia is a 10 minute taxi ride.
