Quirky, but a terrific experience
We stayed here in late September 2020. ‘Quirky’ is the best description; we enjoyed it hugely. It is a perfect place as a base for walking in the Brecons. Several excellent walks can be accessed on foot from the cottage. Originally we rented it as a couple, my wife and me, but our children, and partners, came for part of the time. There are two good double bedrooms, so accommodating four is fine. The kitchen facilities take a bit of getting used to. The main kitchen is upstairs, off the main bedroom and there is no freezer. It has a lovely garden with a fire pit etc. The host, Adele, lives in the adjoining property and is absolutely marvellous, very kind and accommodating. She does foraging trips, which we enjoyed very much. It is not a place for those you want high-spec home comforts, but it was ideal for us. We were cosy there and felt very welcome; we will go back again.

A good time
A very convenient and lovely place with superb garden and general facilities including log fires Only criticisms were poor shower and no access to water downstairs. But the place was just a bit special and would be happy to stay again.

How to get there
The address is 1 Tregaer Road, LD3 7HT. Sat nav works fine. On the corner of the turn in to Tregaer Road you will see our gate which has prayer flags festooned. Turn right at this gate then indicate left immediately and turn into the first wooden double gate on your left. You will see a greenhouse and a double garage with planters in front. Park wherever you like. The house is the first red door to the left of the garage, surrounded by plant pots full of herbs for you to use.
