Nice cottage but needs deep cleaned
Cottage location is good and cottage itself ok & obviously you expect the odd spider etc due to where it is located but cleanliness absolutely appalling. Had to hoover sofa as old food from previous occupants in between cushions. Place covered in cob webs and requires a deep clean. Slugs appeared most nights on kitchen floor and had to be disposed of. Oven was disgusting to the point where we decided not to cook anything in property. Such a shame as cottage location is idyllic and scenery beautiful.

Cosy cottage in great location!
10 Torrin is a lovely cosy cottage in a great location! The cottage is a 5-10 minute walk to Loch Slapin and fabulous views of Blaven. The cottage is well equipped and lovely and warm. We had everything we needed including extra blankets (and electric blankets if we’d needed them.) Six of us stayed and we paid extra to use the Byre (which meant we had two toilets and showers). There was a big table for eating and for evenings playing games. The cottage has good Wi-fi (two of our party taught virtual music lessons during our stay!). There was Sky TV (repaired during our stay as it hadn’t been working for the previous occupants) - we wouldn’t have watched it anyway! There is a DAB radio and a DVD player (but unlike most cottages there aren’t any DVDs so make sure you bring your own like we did). The beds were very comfortable and the showers were both powerful. The garden is semi-enclosed, so we kept our two labradors on leads. There is ample parking for two family sized cars and with careful parking we managed to park two small cars and a family car in the parking area. Torrin is a great position to visit all parts of the island and was particularly good for the younger members of our group who climbed Blaven and several of the Cuillin Munro’s (including the Inaccessible Pinnacle (with a guide!). The walk to Camasunary Beach is nearby, as is the lovely walk up Beinn Na Cro (one of the red Cuillins which has 360degree views at the top). Elgol is a short drive away - we hoped to go on a boat trip from here, but the weather had other ideas! There are lots of nice places to eat, but due to Covid19 you need to book in advance. We had lovely meals at the Red Skye in Broadford and Seumas’ bar at Sligachan Hotel. The fish and chip shop in Broadford does amazing take away meals. There’s also a really good pizza place there too.

Wonderful simple cottage with excellent access to the hills
A group of seven of us stayed at No. 10 over Easter 2019. We loved it--just the right size, uncomplicated, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds. And excellent access to the Red Cuillin and the Cuillin proper a boat ride-away from Elgol (five miles down the road), or a ~45-minute drive on the road. Being on a track about 100 yards from the road made the spot very quiet. The owner Alistair was helpful and friendly in all correspondence. And very cheap for what it provided. Recommended!

Lovely House - Lovely Location
The house was very well equipped, clean and tidy with everything we needed for our stay. The location was perfect for a weeks walking and hiking in the hills. Highly recommend this property and will look forward to coming back.

Fantastic No.10
We have just come back from a fantastic week staying at no.10 with a husband two boys and a dog. We've stayed in lots of places on Skye over the years but we liked no.10 so much we are booking again next year. It's a perfect location 5 mins from Broadford for amenities (depending on stubborn livestock on the road or equally stubborn individuals who struggle with the very easy passing place system). We loved the history of No.10 which adds to its very warm welcome. The cottage is really well equipped and the WiFi was a great relief for my two boys, open fire great if needed but heating soon makes it toasty and warm. No mobile phone connection but for us that was a bonus. Skye itself is one of the most beautiful island that offers so much. Distilleries, a castle, wildlife galore including a buzzards who sits most mornings on the post near the cottage and a Golden Eagal just down the road. Lots of cafe's for everyone's taste. Our favourites are the Blue shed in walking distance and the Bog Myrtle further up the island. The list goes on. Skye is known for its interesting weather changes but come, rain, shine, snow, and wind you will always have a fantastic time.

Great Place. Perfect Break.
We booked through Air BnB and stayed between 12th and 19th May 18. When we arrived we were met with a great cottage which was better than our expectations. The pictures online don’t really do the place justice. Torrin is really quiet (as we expected) and not too far from Broadford for supplies and places to eat. It was a really good location for us and found it central for most of our stay on the island. There are lots of walks near the cottage and Loch Slapin is a short walk away. The Blue Shed Cafe is less than half a mile away and serves good food. Everything we could ever need during our stay was in the cottage. You name it, we found it: blankets, thermos flasks, candles, walking sticks, even a bread maker if you needed one. The list goes on. Loads of good information in the cottage: an information folder contained full guidance information for the cottage (heating, hot water, appliance instructions), local bus timetables, emergency contact details, places to visit, walks, places to eat, day trips and the local recycling calendar. A book case also had ordnance survey maps for reference, board games and old books which related to the history of the island. The cottage has a tv in the living room, although we never turned it on. There’s a DAB radio and a CD player in the dining room as well as a selection of CDs. There’s no mobile phone reception, which helps during a relaxing break, although there is a pay phone by the window at the top of the stairs. The cottage’s wi-fi was really good and let us listen to the radio when cooking etc. There’s an open fire in the living room area which was a great addition on the colder nights. The kitchen had everything you could ever need: cooker, oven, microwave, kettle, fridge, freezer (both of good size), all the utensils you can think of and lots of cleaning equipment (which you just replace if when you use). There are non perishable foods in the kitchen which you can make use of if required. Upstairs there are two spacious bedrooms and a good sized bathroom. Plenty of storage in the bedrooms. Good sized modern bathroom too (no bath). The staircase to the upstairs is tight but didn’t cause us any issues. The garden is a reasonable size and the grass was cut when we were there. A picnic bench in the garden let us dine outside and enjoy the warm sunsets and views from the cottage. We did encounter one or two very small problems which were fed back to the letting agent- these problems were minor and had very little impact on our stay. Would recommend a stay in this cottage, which is a home for home for those who stay there. We never encountered any of the negative points that previous reviewers had highlighted. Make sure you read and sign the visitors book before you leave!

Ideal London Highlands getaway!
Just retuned from a fantastic Easter break, staying at this wonderful cottage in Skype. A rare gem! We found Torrin, close to Broadford, to be super accessible from the local airport (Inverness) - a majestic, drive through the snowy hills, simply takes your breath away. The cottage (croft) is short drive from Broadford, and the cottage itself, snugly situated beneath the Red Hills (Red Cuillins). We stayed at No.10 for four nights, cooking for two in the superb little kitchen, and then venturing out to Skye’s many fine restaurants (check Kinloch Lodge, or Three Chimneys, but - seriously - book ahead!). The cottage was clean, comfortable and really homely - the owners take great care of the place, and have gone to real efforts to make guests to Skye, welcome. If you are there to walk, hike, climb - you couldn’t find a better location than No.10. The Black and Red Cuillins are close by, with many great 6-8 hour hikes (and some sterner stuff, for the more adventurous- Blaven!) available. An easy 20k costal walk (not too hilly) is the Torrin > Broadford costal walk. If you are there to relax, eat great food and dine-out on the stunning views and sunsets, Skye comes close to perfect in our opinion. The great little coal fire, and a dram of Talisker (local) Whisky makes London feel very far away!

Nice house, needs some improvement
The house is beautiful located in Torrin, very nice views across the red cuillins. Unfortunately the house needs some improvements. For example there wasn't enough cutlery for 5 people (the house will be letting out for 6) the sofa's are passed through. Cleaning could be better....(vacuum cleaner didn't work, we send an email to the housekeeper..no answer at all)

Lovely place in a great location
Torrin is a small village in a superb location with some of the greatest views on mountaineous Isle of Skye situated between the Red Cuilins, Loch Slapin and Blaven. 10 Torrin is a cosy cottage, well equipped - we had a great stay. Very comfortable inside on a rainy day (and ther's quite a few of those in Scotland), and with the hills right outside the front door in better weather. The biggest bedroom is in a separate building. Good shopping in Broadford 7 miles away. When we were there in 2010, there was no mobile phone reception in the wider area - best prerequisite for a relaxing holiday!

About the neighbourhood
It is almost impossible to spend a holiday on the island without visiting the small town of Broadford. There is a good selection of interesting shops and museums as well as a bank, supermarket and 24 hour filling station. Broadford bay boasts one of the finest sandy beaches on the island and you can take one of the boat trips which regularly leave from the pier. When you visit Sleat, you will understand why this area of the island is called the garden of Skye. With its broad leafed trees and glorious flora this is a truly beautiful and verdant area. The Clan Donald Centre is worth a visit and if you want to come 'Over the Sea to Skye' you can still do so on the Mallaig to Armadale Ferry.
