The cottage has a double bedroom on the second floor with a comfortable new double bed with good linen and down duvet. The adjacent bathroom has an electric shower. It is beside the main house where your hosts live but is separate with its own access. The cottage is 3 Km from the historic village of Kilbrittain on the Wild Atlantic Way ( a 2000km coastal drive from Kinsale in the south to Donegal in the North). Kilbrittain is home to a beautiful Castle and the skeleton of a fin whale the subject of the documentary 'Inside Natures Giants'. From the cottage you can walk to Harbour View beach which is a very popular place for kite and wind surfing. The Pink Elephant Restaurant and Bar is located just above the beach - ideal for a drink or a meal whilst admiring the view. There is an abundance of activities to occupy a visitor to this area. There are a number of golf courses within a short driving distance including the world famous Old Head of Kinsale, a headland off which the Lusitania was tragically sunk. There are lots of outdoor activities to keep a visitor occupied including surfing, (wind/kite) sailing, fishing and hill walking . The b.autiful sandy blue flag beaches of Garretstown and Garylucas are less than 10 minutes drive. Lessons are available for most water sports Clonakilty is within 15KM, a lovely town where you will find the scenic Inchydoney beach, a Model Village and numerous lively pubs and restaurants. We are less than an hour's drive from Killarney and the start of the Ring of Kerry. The Wild Atlantic Way follows the coast along through West Cork to places like Skibbereen and Bantry Bay.More

Excellent location for exploring nearby areas and walks (Kinsale, Courtmacsherry, Timoleague etc.) Cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay and the owner couldn't be more helpful. Had a lovely couple of days in beautiful Ireland!

Sadly the cottage did not live up to our expectations. To start with certain areas weren't very clean - the rug in the hallway was muddy, the tablecloth on the kitchen table hadn't been changed and was covered in stains and there were cobwebs on...More

How to get there
The address: Sli Bheatha, Lisheenaleen, Kilbrittain, Co. Cork. Directions from Cork city : Follow the signs to Cork Airport and from there the signs for Kinsale. When you reach Kinsale drive through the town following the R600 (Wild Atlantic Way) signpost to the town of Ballinspittle. From Ballinspittle you continue to follow the R600 (WWW) heading towards Timoleague/Kilbrittain. The road is straight but will eventually bend to the left and you will come down to the coast with Harbour View Beach ahead of you. There is a bridge/causeway on your left with a signpost for the R600 and Timoleague go left over the bridge. DO NOT GO STRAIGHT as this will take you into the village of Kilbrittain.
