Browne's Townhouse in the centre of Dungarvan.. This self- catering accommodation was refurbished in 2016. Originally built in 1822, we have retained 'boutique' old world elegance but combined it with the modern convenience of wireless internet, fully equipped kitchen, 3 great bathrooms and a fabulous patio. Dungarvan is renowned for its excellent restaurants, pubs and coffee shops - all at your doorstep. With two playgrounds in town, tennis courts and a bowling green. The beach is just 3 miles outside town. Dungarvan is surrounded by lovely local towns such as the historic village of Ardmore and the picturesque town of Lismore.
There are 3 golf courses in Dungarvan and Kayaking, surfing, sailing and fishing nearby. We cannot accommodate hens, stags or party weekends at this property as this is a residential area.

Interaction with guests: I live 15 minutes from Browne's Townhouse so I'm readily available for queries or issues. We operate a self- check in but I will call to you just to say hello during your stay.
Our second holiday at Browne's Townhouse. Superb location. House so comfortable for family of twelve. Unfortunately, this time, weather did not permit much enjoyment of outside patio. Naoive very helpful and warm host. Disability parking outside door was wonderful asset.

Extremely disappointing!!
This property at the moment is certainly not as it appears in the photos (obviously taken some time ago). We stayed here as a party of eight. Location very good, central to shops and restaurants. The property itself is in bad need of an entire paint job. The entrance hall and stair walls were extremely dirty and grubby looking, as were the downstairs bedroom and sitting room. The sitting room, in my opinion, was a huge letdown - it was extremely dull and dreary, furnished with hard uncomfortable armchairs. One of the settees was grubby with an odd stain, the other one (wicker framed) was completely busted on one side and back. We were so disappointed in this room, it was not used during our stay.
The kitchen was nice, however I did have to clean kitchen and patio table after arriving as I noticed food stains on them. The inside of the dishwasher was mouldy and unclean looking..We were informed on day prior to arrival that the dishwasher had been reported broken by occupants currently there and that engineer was contacted - it was still out of use on our departure.
The steps down to the small garden and the small garden itself are well overgrown. We had at least 6 different cats on a daily basis on patio. Notices on the second floor bathroom and back bedroom window sills advised against opening windows as cats like to hop in! It was extremely warm and this wasn’t ideal. The extractor fan for this bathroom operated by a switch outside bathroom door which we tried but it didn’t seem to be working.
The king size bed on second floor creaked all the time - I felt the bed linen was of poor quality - two of the duvets kept coming out of the duvet cover as a result of no fastenings at the bottom of them. I removed a pillowcase from my bed which had a very unpleasant odour coming off it.
In respect to Covid 19 we bought our own hand sanitiser, as the unit located in the entrance hall did not seem to be working.
We have stayed in many properties but in my opinion this property, as it sits at the moment, fell short of a four star status and was very disappointing.

I am really sorry that you were disapointed with your stay in August 2020. This would not reflect our general feedback. However, I had taken all your points on board and repainted sections of the house. The damaged couch happened just before your visit and as we have back to back bookings there was no time to rectify it. It has since been fully reupholstered. The sanitiser unit on the stairs has an on/off switch and was in the off position when we checked the house on your departure. The Extractor fan was also working perfectly.
The house dates from 1880 and I have kept the living room in keeping with that with furnishings. which were obviously not to your taste. I have however had a number of wedding parties take photos from that room, as they do like the style of it.
The dishwasher was under guarantee but unfortunately they did not send a repair man during your stay.
None of the above issues were brought up with me, while you were there...some of them could have been easily rectified had I been made aware of them. I do my utmost to make sure guests enjoy their stay.

Just fantastic
Arrived in to the townhouse and it immediately felt like home. Careful attention had been made to have every single thing that you would need close at hand. The house was immaculately clean, and anything that you needed was available in the friendly little shop only a few doors down. I really can’t imagine a nicer way to spend a weekend in Dungarvan. Honestly, I think the price was extremely fair and the rooms were very roomy and comfortable. It’s only a shame I didn’t get to meet a very nice lady who took care of everything we needed. As a side note, I left a gift for my niece and a scarf behind me. The owner very kindly posted it to me all the way over in the UK without even asking me for postage. A truly generous and gracious host. I really can’t recommend this place enough. Good luck to you, and I hope many more people get the pleasure I did staying with you.

We, an extended family of 6 children between 5 and 12 ages, and 8 adults stayed for the St Patrick’s weekend. The welcome we received from Naoive, the owner, the condition of everything in the house, was second to none. The size of the house was well able to cope with all of us. Everything we needed is provided, extra towels, toiletries, fully stocked kitchen, even the neighbors cats to eat the scraps. Hopefully we will be back. ❤️❤️❤️

Perfect townhouse retreat
This was the perfect place for our annual New Years retreat. Located in the town itself with walking access to all the amenities, and yet the house itself was so wonderful that we didn't stay out for too long!
Naoive was an great host and everything was there for us that we could want.
Didn't get to explore the local area nearly enough so will be returning for future visits!

We absolutely loved our stay in Browne’s Townhouse! We spent Christmas in this lovely accommodation with family from London and South Africa. It was perfect for our family reunion with spacious bedrooms and a gorgeous big, fully stocked kitchen. There are wonderful restaurants and pubs within walking distance and beautiful walks nearby.

Family fun
We loved Dungarvan and Brownes Townhouse! What a great house, there was plenty of space for our group of 5 adults and 3 children. The townhouse is conveniently located to walk to the pubs and restaurants. Naoive was a gracious host. We had a great time!

Cycling trip with students
We found the house very well presented with every thing we needed. Very suitable for a larger group. Well situated for amenities and the Greenway which was the purpose of trip. Would go back again.

Perfection
What a beautiful beautiful house. Felt incredible good vibes at first sight. The finer details and level of "finish" are second to none. A chalk board welcome and some local produce are an example of such lovely touches. The location is so perfect too. We were a group of 11 and it would hold more comfortably. The balcony area too was a lovely space to use. Naoive met us briefly and was just so so lovely. If you are a group looking for a place in a town full of fun and friendly locals I honestly could not recommend this to you enough !! It was incredibly difficult to leave on Sunday, would love to return some day.

A great stay in Dungarvan
Brownes Townhouse is a great venue for a large group. There is plenty of space and the house has everything you could want in a holiday home. Naoive was really helpful and made us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend it to others and would love to come back for another visit.

The Townhouse is located in the centre of Dungarvan but is still residential and quiet. It is walking distance from coffee shops and restaurants. The renowned Tannery restaurant is in Dungarvan and the Michelin Star Cliff House Hotel is in nearby Ardmore.
There is a large shopping centre with over 50 retail outlets. There are 2 playgrounds and the nearby Ardmore Mini zoo and Petfarm for the small ones. Perks indoor play area in Youghal is great for wet days or our super SGC cinema. There are 3 golf clubs in Dungarvan.
Getting around
Bike is an easy way to get around or by car.
Lismore Youghal and Cobh are great towns nearby and Cork city is only 50 mins away.

How to get there
Dungarvan can be accessed by bus from Dublin or Cork. Also you can get a train from Dublin to Waterford city and get a bus from there.
Car is easiest so you can explore local towns .. there is a set down area only outside the house but there is all day free parking 3 minutes walk away at the Sports Centre.
Bring your bikes to check out the Waterford Greenway .. a fabulous cycle way from Dungarvan to Waterford. We have a bike shed in the back garden otherwise there are plenty of rental companies in town.
