Casa Sorvillo is a recent independent outbuilding cottage situated inside the property of the ancient “Villa Sorvillo” in Vietri sul Mare, the first town of the Amalfi Coast. Villa Sorvillo is a prestigious villa situated in a splendid panoramic position at Vietri sul Mare, one of the jewels of the Amalfi Coast, internationally famous for its pottery decorations and a popular tourist destination. Villa Sorvillo is a prestigious villa situated in a splendid panoramic position at Vietri sul Mare, one of the jewels of the Amalfi Coast, internationally famous for its pottery decorations and a popular tourist destination. Differentiated by a unique view of the splendid Amalfi Coast, the Villa is set inside a completely fenced-in property, graced with pine and lemon trees, while the Casa has a large, equipped terrace with a stunning sea and coastal view. The inner space of the Villa is characterized by a large and luminous living room and is magnificently constructed around a secular pine tree that comes out of the roof of the house. The property is gifted with an excellent location and it is usually used as a starting point in order to visit the surrounding area. Unlike other locations on the Amalfi Coast, the Villa has excellent nearby roads, rails and sea transportation to both main coastal and inland tourist attractions. This includes: Vietri town centre (0,3 km), Amalfi (20 km), Ravello (24 km), Pompei (25 km), Positano (40 km), Paestum (45 km) and Salerno harbor (5 km) where fast-ferries to the Amalfi Coast and Capri island leave for scenic return day trips. In addition to these famous tourist destinations, the relatively unknown and unspoiled little places of the Amalfi Coast, such as Cetara and Erchie, can be reached from the Villa in 15 minutes for an even more authentic experience in Southern Italy. The Villa was once the property of the Roman Catholic Church, being the summer residence of the bishop of Cava, but was subsequently expropriated with other Church proprieties by General Murat on orders from Napoleon and auctioned off to the Bellelli family. The Villa was then passed by marriage to the family of the actual owners. The Casa instead, was built in the 70’s, as a summer house for the relatives of the family, and has been just repainted and renewed. The two accommodations can be rented together. More

Quick tips for newcomers to Vietri sul Mare. This is the beginning of the Amalfi coast, and Veitri is very nice, with some cool little streets, but it is not very “touristy,” except for the presence of so many ceramics shops. Local food shops (for...More

About the neighbourhood
Vietri sul Mare is the first town of the Amalfi Coast. A small town, Vietri seats on the hills overlooking the Gulf of Salerno and the Amalfi Coast. It gives way to the spectacular roller coaster drive that from the city of Salerno leads to Sorrento and down to Naples, passing by some of the most beautiful Italian coastal towns, such as Cetara, Amalfi and Positano. It is, therefore, a popular tourist destination because it is a convenient place to start the Amalfi Coast drive and it is well connected to the airports of Naples and Salerno and the motorway to Rome. Yet, it is still a genuine and humble little town, at close reach, but distant, from the hordes of tourists of Amalfi and Positano. The town is located on the seaside and is also famous for its ceramics. Notably, the ceramics f...
