Bay View Cottage is 4 star, gold award accommodation. It is in a wonderful location opposite Port Erin beach, with breathtaking views of Bradda Head and stunning sunsets. The property has been renovated throughout to extremely high standards. A sun lounge has been created with a corner window which takes advantage of the magnificent view. Come and watch the sea and marvel at the sunsets! There are 2 bedrooms, a lounge, sun lounge and a spacious, newly fitted kitchen/ breakfast room with all mod cons, including a dishwasher and washer dryer. All these rooms overlook the sea. The new bathroom includes a bath with Aqualisa shower and a heated towel rail. The front garden is across the single track road and just above the beach!

Just stunning
From the moment we walked in it was Whow Whow Whow. Fabulous cottage no expense spared every thing in every room is of good quality. The sun room upstairs was my go to room loved it in there . The location stunning, you don’t really need a car it’s so close to the bus and Steam train to access the whole Island. Great pubs and restaurants close too. We had 2 weeks on the Island , Walked the whole of the Island coast path, then bought a Go Explore ticket that covers you for the whole of the island transport Bus, Steam Train, Electric Tram, Horse Carriage. Absolutely loved coming back to the cottage after exploring the beautiful island. Thank you Judy for letting us share your beautiful cottage.

Best place to stay on the whole Island
We have stayed at Bayview Cottage twice now and never want to stay anywhere else on the Island. The cottage itself is so well equipped it's like a home from home. The sunroom especially is a favourite place to watch the sun go down with a drink in the evenings. Close to all the local amenities as well as the bus and train station you can get around the island very easily even if you don't have your own transport or you just don't fancy driving. If you use the public transport get yourself a travel card from the ferry terminal building (or online) that covers the cost of bus and train fares (and the electric railway and mountain tram), you will find you save yourself money. The owner Judy is great too, any little issues sorted out straight away with no fuss and always quick to respond to emails if you need her. We are already looking at when we can return, we miss the cottage and we have only been back a couple of days !

Beautiful
This was my first trip to IOM. My parents had stayed in this beautiful cottage the same time last year and rebooked. The cottage is just a short walk from the train station and is close to local shops. The cottage its self is spacious and kept to a very high standard. The kitchen is modern and has stunning views from its window. Their is plenty of space to sit around and relax and the sitting room upstairs is perfect of an evening to look out and see the wonderful scenery. Now the front garden is perfect for breakfast as you can see the picture attached. I honestly can not put into words just how perfect this location is. It is certainly somewhere I would look to return to.

Beautiful cottage and location
A beautiful cottage - a real home from home with every comfort provided for and beautifully presented throughout. Amazing views from every room, especially the upstairs lounge. We loved being so close to the sea and were fortunate to have great weather and sunsets. We would love to stay in Bayview cottage again.

Just perfect!
Sunlight on the sand, moonlight on the sea, we stayed in Bay View Cottage so perfect for we three. Now, South Pacific Parody over ! We just loved Bay View Cottage. Having family connections on the island we have been hundreds of times to the island but not to BVC and this made it our best ever stay. Our friend had never been and she was bowled over. The cottage was dazzlingly clean on our arrival and had welcoming flowers in a vase in the kitchen. The equipment for both home and garden was top class and plentiful, including a good lemon squeezer - now that’s attention to detail. Fittings were good quality and included a washing machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer. Views from all windows, especially upstairs were world class. Fabulous.

Wonderful, well equipped cottage in a beautiful location.
We have just returned from two wonderful weeks in Bay View Cottage and I have to say it is the very best place we have ever stayed on the Isle of Man. The cottage is well thought out and has every thing you could need for a relaxing, comfortable holiday. The view from the sunroom is breath-taking and the garage is an added bonus especially if you are travelling by motorcycle. The garden at the front of the property is lovely for sunbathing and we had many envious looks from fellow holiday-makers walking past on their way to the beach and nearby café. Judy, the owner, has been extremely prompt and helpful all the way through from our very first contact last year and we will definitely be booking again in the future. All in all highly recommended, we really didn't want to come home !

Wonderful located high quality cottage
A simple high quality and really well thought out property in a lovely location looking straight out to sea. Great welcome pack, very clean and well equipped, bright yet well heated for the time of the year we were there. Great base to explore this well kept secret of an island. I just hope we can get back one day!

Magical place
This rental is a dream. Everything you would want for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Modern, clean and well appointed. Easy access to hikes, pubs and shopping. There are public buses too so could get away without a car . We would definitely go back for a return visit. Sweet island and friendly people.

I always feel relaxed when I come to this cottage
Only a few days to enjoy this relaxing place this time. As always, a homely feel and all the comforts you would expect to find in your own home and more besides. Just enjoy the ever-changing scenery from the upstairs lounge windows. Took a friend this time and so did sightseeing on the steam and electric trains but when on my own just happy to find the time to sit and stare out at the ebb and flow of the tide.

Perfect cottage in a perfect location with a lovely owner
We stayed in this cottage with 2 friends visiting from Australia and we all loved it. It is in a perfect location for Port Erin and its surrounding attractions,is comfortable and impeccably decorated and tastefully furnished. We have stayed in Port Erin many times and would rate this as the nicest way to stay in the area. Judy Ewart is a delight to deal with and has an eye for detail even down to arranging a small welcome pack of essentials for our arrival. The sunsets over the bay from the little front garden are stunning. The walk over the headland to The Sound is a must. We are looking to book for next year !!

About the neighbourhood
Port Erin is on the south west coast of the beautiful Isle of Man and you have the chance to see the some amazing sunsets from the cottage, as the beach is opposite the cottage with Bradda Head in the background. The village shops -including the Post Office, chemists, the Isle of Man Bank, Iceland and Shoprite supermarkets - are just a 5 minute walk up the steps next to the cottage. The Erin Arts Centre is 5 - 6 minutes away - with Art exhibitions, films and talks. The beach is directly opposite the cottage - less than a minute away - with access via a few steps. There are some good places to eat nearby, including the Falcon's Nest Hotel, the Bay Hotel, La Gusto Pizza, the Station Hotel, Bradda Glen and the Port Erin Chippy!
Getting around
A car is desirable, but not essential. The buses provide a good service and the bus station is just 5 mins from the cottage, as is Port Erin railway station. Snaefell Mountain railway which starts from Laxey in the north, is the oldest mountain railway in Britain and takes you up Snaefell - the only mountain in the Isle of Man - from where, on a clear day, you can see 7 kingdoms - Man, Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of the sea!

How to get there
The cottage is approximately 15 miles from Douglas, where the boat to the Isle of Man arrives and about 7 miles from Ronaldsway airport, if you arriving by plane. It is possible to get around by public transport - there is a good bus service - and it is also fun to travel on the steam railway, which runs between Douglas and Port Erin and the Manx Electric Railway, which goes from Douglas to Ramsey in the north. On arriving in Station Road, Port Erin, head left - down towards the sea. You will see the Bridge Bookshop on your left. Turn left into Shore Rd and the cottage is two thirds of the way down, opposite the beach and St Catherine's well, where, it is said, Port Erin began! The journey from Port Erin station is a couple of minutes by car or 5 or 6 mins walk.
