Lovely house with beautiful views
We had a wonderful staycation here. Booked with Island Escapes. The house is high up with wonderful views over Port Erin and the bay. The house itself was very clean. With a big welcoming kitchen consisting of everything you need if you plan on coming a meal. Comfortable dining room with doors opening to the covered terrace. Which has 4 chairs and small table to enjoy sitting out during day or evening to take in the views. (As well as a visiting beautiful friendly cat, but be sure to keep the door shut as it likes company and sneaks into the dining room!) The hall (a few creaky floorboards) takes you to the small lounge with settee and 2 small leather chairs. I found the settee a bit uncomfortable quite low and not supportive. However the chairs were fine. Big bathroom with plenty of storage. Good sized shower which is very powerful. Big and fluffy towels provided. Front bedroom has plenty of storage as well as back bedroom. I found the bed more comfortable in the back bedroom. The carpet in front bedroom looks quite old and in need of replacing. Carpet in backbedroom looks new but has quite a bit of spillage near bed, probably from a past visitor who couldn't be bothered to try to clean it. Such a shame it probly would have cleaned up easily if done soon after spillage. Upstairs is the viewing room with views extending far and wide so don't forget the binoculars! Washing machine housed in cupboard in the hall near side door. Outside in the back garden which is a suntrap has a table and chairs as well as a decking area up some steps. Opposite the house is a dirt track which takes you down to the beach. It comes out next to the Bay pub. Quite a steep climb back but better than the long roadway back round. Would we return on another staycation, without a doubt. Don't forget to try the Port Erin chip shop, wonderful haddock and chips. Or the Sound cafe for a full English breakfast. 1

Perfection! With a view....
I booked this beautiful home for my mother and aunt and uncle. The house is perfect for folk with creaking joints. It is decorated to a very high standard and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The views are exceptional .... even when the weather is not it’s best. It is also staggering distance from some of the best places to eat and drink in Port Erin. Watch out for the beautiful stars at night.... minimal light pollution My mum was so thrilled with her stay .... that she has threatened to book it again next year..... 😬

Absolutely fabulous property in a stunning location
Shey Dy Vea is a beautiful property with stunning views across Port Erin bay and a sun trap rear garden. The property is immaculate an has plenty of space for 4 adults to enjoy a wonderful time. The 'observation room' is a lovely space and has stunning views and could easily accommodate a couple of children if allowed. The beach at Port Erin is a 5 minute walk (although quite a steep one) as is the steam railway station (a trip to Douglas being a 'must do'). A visit to the 'Little Fish' Restaurant is also highly recommended. Island Escapes were extremely good to deal with and managed our booking impeccably. This holiday home is a gem of a find!
