Interaction with guests
When booking we will ask for your approx arrival time, I can then meet you, show you in & give you the keys. We live next door if you need anything but the cottage is completely self contanined. The kitchen is small but fully workable for snacks for light meals, condiments - salt, pepper, cooking oil, tea, coffee, sugar etc are provided. I will also leave a small carton of milk so that you can make a cuppa when you arrive! The pub at the end of the lane (walking distance) provides lovely food in a warm atmosphere (dogs welcome on a lead) Lunch 12 - 2.30pm Dinner 6 - 9pm.

100% recommend! The cottage was perfect for a break away and the owners were marvellous, we can't wait to go back, just look at the night view. Hitch gave a well deserved paws up!

About the neighbourhood
Icklesham village is located approximately six miles east of Hastings on the A259, Hastings to Rye Road. The village has several public houses. The church is dedicated to All Saints and St Nicolas and dates back to the 12th century.

Icklesham stands on the ridge between the coast and river Brede, offering views to the hills at Fairlight to the south and the Brede valley on the other side. The name Icklesham (which was possibly derived from Anglo Saxon – Iclingas Ham the home of the Iclas family) was recorded in 772 as Icoleshamme, in a land charter signed by Offa, King of Mercia. The village was probably a prime target during the invasion by the Normans in 1066 as in earlier times it dominated the river Brede.
