Villa Edera is a marvelous farmhouse of ancient origins, dating back to the 13th century. Originally used as a mill, it has undergone several recovery interventions over the years that have transformed it into a rural villa. Even today, its walls up to a meter thick are evidence of its ancient origins. The current owners have renovated the villa while preserving its history and style, while providing it with every comfort. It is immersed in the peaceful Tuscan countryside, near a cool stream that can be crossed with a wooden bridge and is surrounded by a park of 3 hectares of lawns and secular trees that shade and give privacy to the area. The pool area, set on a lawn, is completed by a gazebo with a comfortable table for outdoor dining and a barbecue. For the little ones large outdoor spa...Villa Edera is a marvelous farmhouse of ancient origins, dating back to the 13th century. The pool area, set on a lawn, is completed by a gazebo with a comfortable table for outdoor dining and a barbecue. For the little ones large outdoor spaces in which to play outdoors without danger, table tennis, table football and a small playground. Perfect for a group of friends or families, thanks to the large bedrooms and the numerous rooms that are located in the villa. The owners live in the house next door, but they are very discreet and available for every guest need. We are in Tuscany in the heart of Chianti, between Florence, which is 70 kilometers north, and Siena, 24 kilometers south. In an area of the Tuscany region known and appreciated by visitors from all over the world, full of vineyards, excellent restaurants and wineries. The landscape is characterized by hills, covered with vineyards and olive groves villages and stone farmhouses. A trip to Chianti must necessarily touch its most picturesque villages: Greve in Chianti, considered the gateway to Chianti, Panzano and its Castle built to defend the Republic of Florence. Castellina in Chianti, where you can admire evidence of Etruscan tombs, Radda in Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti (just 3 kilometers from Villa Edera), whose origins date back to the Middle Ages, with numerous fortified fortresses such as Castello di Vertine, the Castle of Meleto or the Pieve di Spaltenna. Last but not least we remember the wine that we absolutely must stop to taste. Next to the Chianti Classico DOC, a brilliant ruby color we can find the Riserva, with a minimum aging of 24 months, dark red. Remember that the Chianti Classico is suitable to accompany grilled red meats, while the Riserva is more suitable for elaborate dishes, such as game. The bottle should be opened a few hours before the meal, to allow the wine to oxygenate itself and served at a temperature of 16-18 ° C with the inevitable tulip-shaped glass!More
