We found this refuge as the weather turned a little south and it was great. We stayed in the house proper and had a great wonderfully delicious breakfast. I highly recommend

About the neighbourhood
Copper Center is a small but historically significant town in south central Alaska. It is home to the Ahtna Athapaskan Native people and was inhabited in the nineteenth century by Russian explorers. Decades later it became a hub of activity around both the early copper and gold mining history. In more recent times Copper Center enjoyed boom town oil pipeline success when the trans Alaska Pipeline was constructed in the mid nineteen seventies. Since that time, the economy has been mostly dependent on pipeline maintenance and oil revenues.
Getting around
The Wrangle St Elias National Park is located in close proximity to Copper Center, it is moderately easy to access and absolutely phenomenal in its breadth and beauty. There are many sights to see in the Copper River Valley and the mountain ranges alone are worth the trip. Additionally, Mount Wrangle is an active volcano the last erupted in 1932.
