AWESOME adventure!
I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our too-short stay in the High Ridge cabin. The place was spotless and extremely well stocked. Most importantly, communication with Shenandoah Rentals was outstanding. We were given excellent directions for navigating the winding mountain roads, and these were invaluable because we lost cell phone connection halfway up. (WiFi was great at the cabin.) My Prius made it up and out just fine, but I’d recommend 4-wheel drive if it’s snowing. The autumn leaves were at peak, and the entire vista was a riot of gorgeous color. Because of our photos and rave reviews, several friends want to return with us next year and make this an annual event. Thanks everybody!!!!

House in the mountains
The last paved road up to the cabin is steep. The gravel road to get to cabin is a lot of fun to drive with 4wd. House is set away in the woods. Coffee, kitchen utensils, filtered water and i e machine (fridge) where stocked and I’m working order. Even had a crockpot. Used the hot tub. Nice way to ease into the morning. Was hoping to see wildlife, but was treated to nice views of the surroundings. In fall watch out for falling acorns.

Love this place
This cabin was amazing! I would totally rent this again! The access road is mountainous as expected so 4WD is a must even if just to give you peace of mind. We pulled up and the cabin exterior is charming! Back “yard” area is great, big fire pit, grill, hot tub, wood etc. The hot tub was so relaxing and useful after long hikes in the park! Kitchen had everything we needed, measuring cup, glass baking dishes and sheet pans. Has all the other basics as well as having laundry which was also really useful. I enjoyed the feel and design of the cabin. The bed was also really comfy! I’m going to attach as many photos as I can.

Great getaway
Such a cozy cabin away from everything and at the same time close to all there is to do and see in and around Shenandoah National Park! The cabin provided everything we needed with some great extras… relaxing in the hot tub…great outdoor fire pit…cozy indoor fireplace for watching TV or reading on the comfy couch…beautiful night sky…surrounded by mountains & forest. It was perfect!

Remote, Cozy, Perfect Getaway
We could not have asked for a more perfect spot to run away to for our anniversary. We needed a getaway, and this was THE place - not too far from our NOVA home, but far enough to feel like a nice trip to a remote cabin. They weren't kidding when they say this cabin is remote, by the way. We didn't see one person the whole time we were there! The dogs didn't bark once - glorious! And speaking of dogs, if you have them, you can bring them. Ours were in heaven. We enjoyed the hot tub, playing games, relaxing in the silence. We took walks and just reveled in the peace. Now the cabin IS a ways up - "High Ridge" isn't just a poetic description of this place. Be prepared. Stores are not close by, so bring your food and whatnot and be prepared to settle in until you decide to go into town.

Clean and comfortable very quiet atmosphere, excellent communication with the property manager.
Was very quiet. The dirt road going up is well maintained and safe. Luray is very close with the cave and car museum, and Cooters is just down the road. Train station museum in Luray was nice to visit also.

First time in a cabin and in Shenandoah
Love the remoteness of the cabin. The rustic cabin is clean and cozy, a perfect family getaway; I couldn't tell that dogs stayed there, as they did allow our German shepherd to stay, because the place was clean without a trace of family pet. Be wary of the drive to the cabin as it has steep curvy inclines and declines. The Shenandoah rental company gave great directions, but we still almost got lost. My parents definitely did. The kitchen and the family room space is comfortable for 6-8 people and the kitchen appliances and all furnishing were wonderful and not worn out. I can tell they thought of all the details that a renter may need and supply them. We had hot temperature but the air-condition unit worked well. My recommendation is to replace the fan unit in the back bedroom since it only blows out warm air. Invest in a heater/ac portable unit. I like mine from Costco and it wasn't that expensive. Also the house number sign was hidden by grass..if you can make a wooden post with the house number in front of the grassy driveway, that will be helpful for many.
