Villa Esmeralda with heated pool and sauna in Salobreña is located near the beach (less than 5 minutes in car). The villa has magnificent sea views. The villa is set on a plot of 1,200 square meters. It is very private and not overlooked. The villa has everything you will need to relax and enjoy regardless of what time of year you choose to visit. In addition to the heated pool and Finnish sauna, both sitting rooms have wood burners. There is central heating throughout and air con. You will love the colorful garden. There is internet access and TV with international channels. The villa has a separate apartment, which is accessed internally and externally. This villa is south facing, therefore it enjoys the sun all day long. Upon entering this precious villa you will be amazed by the spectacular sea views and the light. Just being in the spacious, open plan living/dining room with its double height, vaulted ceilings is a treat. To the south there is a wall of windows offering fabulous views of the Mediterranean and to the west there are French doors that allow you to enjoy the garden from inside. There is space to sit outside here in the garden and there is a table and chairs as well. This is a nice spot for breakfast. On the entry level of this villa you will also find a fully equipped kitchen with great views, a bedroom with twin beds as well as a bathroom. This bedroom is ideal for anyone with mobility issues as there are no steps and the entry to the house is completely level. Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms with king size beds and each with an en suite bathroom and one with a large terrace. Both bedrooms have great sea views. On the lowest level of this 3 storey villa there is another large open plan room in Arabic style with a wood burner. Part of that room is shielded as a bedroom with a double bed. On the same floor there is a sink and shower. There is also a guest apartment, that has a double bedroom, en suite bathroom, sitting room with sofabed for two extra guests and a kitchen. The relaxing Finnish sauna is also on this floor. Due to the design with the bedrooms spread out over 3 floors, this villa is ideal for multiple families sharing a holiday together. There are large spaces where everyone can be together, but when people want time on their own they can easily find a private spot on one of various terraces or in the garden. The pretty, free form swimming pool is located off of the lower level. It is surrounded by a large, sunny terrace. The views from the pool terrace are truly breathtaking and the terrace enjoys sun all day long as the villa is due south. You can see both the sunrise and sunset from here. There are comfortable sun loungers so you can sunbathe comfortably and a table and chairs, as well as good quality, gas barbeque. Villa Esmeralda is located on the very nice hillside urbanization Alfamar. The urbanization has a recreational area with a large pool and a tennis court. Our guests have complimentary use of these facilities. The tennis court is open year round and the communal pool in July and August. The beach, restaurants and shops are less than a 10 minute drive away. There is an easy access to Malaga, Granada or Almeria airport. If you can manage yourself away from this marvelous villa, there are lots of things to see and to do: the ski area of the Sierra Nevada where you can also enjoy great walking and hiking is less than 75 minutes away, so you can ski during the morning (from December to April) and relax on the beach or at the pool in the afternoon. There is a golf course 10 minutes away that is located right on the beach. The picturesque mountain villages of Las Alpujarras are nearby as well as the wonderful cities of Granada with the world famous Alhambra Palaces and Malaga with its historic downtown, the cathedral and the Picasso museum. Salobreña benefits from the subtropical microclimate with over 300 days of sunshine a year and average temperature of over 20 degrees C. For those interested in sightseeing art, architecture and history this region offers the best of what Andalusia provides. You will be charmed and overwhelmed by the beauty of the region. Small white washed villages on the top of the hills, tropical nature, sounds of flamenco and of course the richness and variety of the Spanish food. Pool heating is optional and will be charged separately. About the neighbourhood
Salobreña is located in the colorful and warm South of Spain, in the region of Andalucia and more specifically in the province of Granada. Apart from the Alhambra Palace and the Sierra Nevada mountains, the province of Granada is famous for the free tapas with any drink. This is a great way to sample the delicious local food. Salobreña is part of the still relatively virgin Costa Tropical without mass tourism, making it the ideal holiday destination for the discerning tourist. If you want a relaxing vacation, good beaches, blue skies, sun, a wealth of leisure activities and a taste of the real Spain then you've come to the right place!
Getting around
Salobreña and Motril are easily accessible with a taxi, but cities further away like Malaga and Granada are best reachable by car. We would strongly recommend to rent a car to get around easily. With your reservation you get a 10% discount for a car rental. The historic city of Granada with the spectacular Alhambra Palace is only 45 minutes away. The small mountain villages of the Alpujarras are well worth exploring. Other places of interest include Almunecar with its markets and Roman ruins, La Herradura with its beautiful harbour and Nerja with its underground caves. Before you arrive we send you the arrival details and directions. Airports: The closest airports to Salobrena are in Granada, Malaga and Almeria. Granada airport is 45 minutes from our villa. However, the majority of our guests fly on Malaga airport as there are hundreds of flights daily from all over Europe. Malaga airport is less than an hour away from this villa. Almeria is around 75 minutes away. We have an agreement with several car hire companies that offer our clients a 10 % discount. Please ask us for details upon booking so you can take advantage of this savings.
