Our family of four, with kids 11 and 14, LOVED staying here for Mardi Gras week. The homeowner is the kindest, most welcoming person and anticipated our every need. She made sure we were comfortable, safe and had as much FUN as possible!
This historic, classic New Orleans style home is perfectly located to walk to parades on St. Charles. Chairs, a cooler, drinks and snacks were all provided and we appreciated her expert advice on how and where to best see and experience the parades. Easy walk to all the great shops and restaurants on Magazine Street.
We saw: Babylon, Chaos, Muses, Hermes, d'Etat, Morpheus, Iris, Endymion (a different route and homeowner personally helped us park and find a prime spot with her), Bacchus, Proteus, Orpheus, Rex.
The BEST was Zulu parade which we were welcomed to watch from the homeowner's personal spot with her and we ended up with many prized coconuts and several new friends!
We ate: Haydel's King Cake, Johnny's Po'Boys, Boil Seafood, Rum House, Dat Dog, Morning Call, Cafe DuMonde
We visited: WWII museum, City Park, French Market and the Quarter, Zulu Lundi Gras festival.
The reviews are true and the photos don't capture the lovely space with high ceilings and spacious areas. The beds and couches were very comfortable for all of us. The TV had access to all our streaming services, the kitchen had everything we needed. This was truly the trip of a lifetime for our family and we could not have had better care and service.
If you are looking for a family friendly, authentic New Orleans home with an exceptional, caring and knowledgeable local host this is the place!
