My husband and I were making a last minute trip to the Big Island for the first time. We wanted to spend a little over a week in the Captain Cook area. This is a more laid-back part of the island, with coffee farms, several local businesses and delicious local produce.
The self-contained unit is very homey and comfortable, with a king-size bed, full shower bath, huge living room and nice large kitchen. While Rhonda mentioned that this is not a B&B, we were greeted personally, given the grand tour of the apartment, and provided with mango nectar, fresh mini-loaves of banana and zucchini bread in the fridge. And plenty of fresh ground Kona coffee in the pantry!
She also shared with us with a book of local sites and points of interest, while cautioning us as to some recent volcano accidents. Rhonda provides a varied selection of snorkel /fin equipment to use during your stay.
The pool is lovely--unheated at the moment, but soon to be heated and renovated...
