The Sevier River Retreat is a secluded and luxurious ranch house that sits on 9 acres surrounded by the Sevier River on 3 sides, and close to Bryce Canyon and Zion. The house looks directly at the back of Bryce Canyon and the Sevier River. Most windows in the house have a view, and there are no neighbors.
The property was entirely renovated, decorated and furnished in 2015 with an neo-industrial/farm style mixing wood and metal. The house features accents of barnwood (most of it from the property itself) and many of the furniture pieces and lighting fixtures were custom made from local artisans using reclaimed barnwood. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms (the master bathroom has a jacuzzi tub and separate tiled shower) and a half bath, with a size of approximately 1800 sf.

The house offer all the amenities of home including high speed wifi (30 Mbps) throughout the house, four LCD flatscreen TVs that offer Netflix and Amazon Video streaming service (no broadcast, cable or satellite channels), as well as Pandora for music and ambiance. We provide many extras for our guests, such as a printer to print out itineraries and boarding passes, cellphone chargers, reverse osmosis drinking water, locally made artisan soaps, shampoo, coffee from the region and much more. The gourmet kitchen features stainless steel appliances and is well equiped for cooking lavish meals and baking treats in the convection oven. A German style wood barbeque is available outside for grilling. Washer and dryer is also provided.
The downstairs bedroom has natural latex mattresses so you can enjoy a good night rest in eery silence. If you're from the big city, it will take some getting used to!
During the winter, cuddle up around the automatic pellet stove in the living room, which provides radiant warmth with a cozy fire (sufficient supply of pellets is provided for your entire stay), and watch the snowy landscapes outside.
During the summer, open up the double doors and blur the lines between inside and outside, as you watch the pink cliffs light up during majestic sunsets, and animals and birds using the river while you have dinners on the wraparound decks. Or watch horses or cows grazing during afternoon tea on the outdoor rocking chairs.
Once you are well rested, you will be ready to take advantage of all the sights to see. The following Parks / Monuments can each be seen within a half or full day trip from the retreat:
- Bryce Canyon National Park
- Red Canyon
- Zion National Park
- Cedar Breaks National Monument (Close in the winter)
- Duck Creek
- Grand Staircase Escalante
- Grand Canyon (North Rim)
- Lake Powell National Recreation Area, and its majestic sandstone cliffs
- Pink Coral Sand Dunes State Park
- Buckskin Gulch Slot Canyon (longest one in the US)
- The Wave (requires permit from BLM)
- Best Friends animal sanctuary (free tours)
- Brian Head Ski Resort (during the winter season)
- Horseback riding (available in Bryce Canyon)
- ATV rentals (summer) and snowmobile rentals (winter)
Of course, you could also stay home and fish (with a Utah fishing license, that can be purchased online) and swim on the property itself, hike, bike or ATV on many trails nearby, some right outside the property.
Upon arrival, be sure to read the welcome guide which contains information on these attractions and many more.
The property is equipped with state-of-the-art electronic locks so that guests can check themselves in at any time, and late check-in is not a problem. Guests have access to the entire house, and can roam freely on the 9 acres as well as fish (with a Utah fishing license, that can be purchased online) and swim in the Sevier River.
We live 4 hours away in Las Vegas, and will leave you in complete privacy. However we are always available to answer any questions or give you tips for daytrips or restaurants. We speak fluent French, German, Spanish and English.
Do not hesitate to reach out with any question, prior or during your trip.
Whether you are looking to explore the natural wonders of the area (the Retreat is located between 2 of the most visited National Parks in the country), whether you're an animal lover (the neighbors on both sides have horses, the rancher's cows graze on the fields during summer, deer and birds like to bathe in the river, and we have the biggest animal shelter in the US is 45 minutes away) or whether you just want to have a romantic and cozy getaway in total privacy, the Retreat has it all.

We were travelling to the USA and my friend had booked this place for our trips to Bryce Canyon and Zion National park. The location of this house is out of the world with a river flowing through the farm and beautiful mountains in the back drop.
It is a fully furnished house with very effective heating system, three bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. A perfect place to stay if you are travelling for Bryce and Zion as it is almost in the centre. even if you want to just do nothing and relax this is a beautifully located house.

Perfect for R&R or Exploring Bryce and Red Canyon/Dixie National Forest
Wonderful, updated (2015), spacious home with loads of privacy and gorgeous views! Convenient to Bryce National Park, sections of the Dixie National Forest (including the must-see Red Canyon), and Scenic Byway 12 (SR-12). Owner is very responsive to questions and concerns and provides detailed information about the house's operation/amenities and the area in general.
Our only problem was the lack of a top sheet and/or light blanket on the bed in the master bedroom. The comforter covering the bed was too warm to use for sleeping. However, our stay was in late October (also, home's heat is on a set schedule) when it was too cool to go without a cover of some type. And although not a problem with the property, guests should be aware that many stores and restaurants in the area close for the year in October. The closest grocery store is not far away (approx. 15 min. drive), but is small. Fortunately, we stopped en route to the home in Escalante where we bought some groceries to bring with us.
Overall, a wonderful stay except for some difficulty sleeping.

of the beaten track
This is a state of the art stylish retreat. Cozy decorated, clean and very secluded with the neighbours far away. The location is perfect to stay at least 4 nights and visit the Np's Zion, Bryce and the grand canyon north rim. Hatch hasn't much to offer, so remember to bring your groceries. The river is a bit cold but fun to swim in. A small private pool is the only thing missing on the premises.

Hello, Thank you very much for your review. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences with us and with future guests. It's wonderful to hear that you found the house to be a welcoming retreat. Your advice to purchase groceries en route to Hatch is very helpful as well! We have also added that information to our manual for future guests. I agree - the river is such fun - chilly, but fun! We hope all is well and would be honored to host you again someday. About the neighbourhood
The Sevier River Retreat is located in Hatch, a small rural town of 200 people. Locals are very friendly and helpful, and you shouldn't hesitate to ask anyone for tips and recommendations.
The Retreat is very private on the edge of town. It sits on 9 acres entirely surrounded by the Sevier River, The neighbors in the back are 300 meters away (with horse pastures in between), while your only neighbors in the front are cows and horses, as you look at the pink cliffs of Bryce Canyon.
Note that there are no grocery stores in Hatch and you should plan to bring at least some food with you. The nearest grocery store is in Panguitch (15 mins) and you will find a Walmart Supercenter in Cedar City (1 hour).
