Felin Fawr Cottage is situated in a tranquil valley, alongside a millstream, sheltered from prevailing SW winds and with a garden pathway that leads directly onto the storm beach at Aberbach. The cottage was converted from a barn which was part of a smallholding of 7 acres together with a water-mill which is now also converted into the owner's accommodation. The mill and cottage date from the early 1600's. The name 'Felin Fawr' means 'Great Mill'
With its original features, pine furniture and slate floors, Felin Fawr is a very welcoming cottage suitable for a holiday at any time of year. The photos of this place do not do it justice. Wendy and tony are lovely hosts and are truly blessed with the situation of their home. Book it, you won’t regret it.

A lovely cottage in a peaceful setting. Great facilities and sited near to many attractions in Pembrokeshire. The only down side is the lack of phone signal and no Wifi or 3/4G however you can take this as a bonus as it adds to your...More

About the neighbourhood
Felin Fawr is situated within a few hundred metres of the twin beaches of Aberbach and Abermawr and there is direct access to the Pembrokeshire National Park Coastpath which leads to the high ground of the Pencaer headland to the North and from there to Strumble Head. To the South the coast path crosses a number of beaches and small coastal villages, Abercastle, Trevine, Porthgain and Abereiddy ,site of the famous Blue Lagoon from where the Red Bull cliff diving competition has been run in previous years. The Aberbach valley is rich in wildlife. Fishguard is 10 minutes drive away and St Davids 22 minutes drive.
Getting around
Felin Fawr is right on the coast and local pubs, restaurants and shops can easily be reached by car. There are a number of good eating places within 15 minutes drive at Porthgain, Mathry and Fishguard. St Davids ( 25 minutes drive) has many more.
A shuttle bus service (The Strumble Shuttle) runs from St Davids to Fishguard and back from April through the summer with a limited winter service. It can be boarded at half a mile from the cottage.

How to get there
Airport: Haverfordwest Light aircraft only.: 22.0 km
Railway: Goodwick : 11.0 km
Ferry: Fishguard to Rosslaire Stenna line ferry link to Ireland: 11.0 km
Take the M4/A40 to Haverfordwest. From Haverfordwest take the A40 to Letterston/Fishguard. At Letterston turn left onto the B4331 (signposted Mathry). After 3 miles turn Right at Castlemorris and follow the road over a small bridge, past Llangoffan chapel and then take the Left fork keeping Llangoffan farm on your right. Cross straight over the next two crossroads and follow the straight road to Abermawr. This road will take you through Granston ( 2 houses, a church and a farm) and into a steeply wooded valley. At the bottom of the valley , before the road crosses the stream, turn left signposted Abermawr and Felin Fawr is ½ a mile on the right.
