Region: Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Town: This small, beautiful market town is located in the heart of southern Snowdonia, between the imposing Cader Idris mountain range and the sea. Its a superb base for a holiday - perfect for combining the many outdoor pursuits on offer in Snowdonia with relaxing days out on the soft sandy beaches of Barmouth, Fairbourne and Aberdovey. The town itself offers a good selection of shops, five pubs and a wine bar, along with a number of excellent restaurants, cafes and two bakeries, that produce fresh bread and cakes each day.
Nice cottage but be aware that the owner claims there is a 'free public car park' nearby. Unfortunately, this is misleading and inaccurate. There are a few off road spaces opposite the cottage which were full up every day. The only free parking is on single yellow lines between 0900 and 1800, so if you want to return to the cottage during the day, it's an issue. Parking is available in the town, but is limited to one hour. Might not be an issue for some, but it was for us.

Fantastic cottage with high quality furnishings. I would definitely book again
I’m currently staying at Bro Dawel for a long weekend at the end of October; and what a fantastic cottage it is!
Check in time was after 16:00. When my wife and I got to the Bro Dawel, we opened the front door to a toasty warm and very welcoming cottage.
I’m currently sat in the lounge on a Sunday afternoon, writing my review, on a comfy corner sofa.
The furnishings and furniture throughout the cottage are all of a high standard and definitely not cheap flat-packed furniture.
The kitchen looks brand new and comes with a dishwasher, which gives confidence that the cutlery and plates etc. used by previous tenants, will be clean. The cottage has clearly had a lot of money spent on it and that is shown in features such as the central heating system.
The bathroom has a fantastic digital shower (walk-in) with rain and handheld shower options.
Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms with good quality bedding and furniture. The towels provided were soft and ‘bath’ sized. Again, something simple such as the softness of the towels is reflective of the attention to detail, that the owners: Gary and Lisa, provide.
In the master bedroom is an en suite toilet and sink.
I’ve not used the log-burner, in the lounge, yet, but I will.
The location in Dolgellau is perfect with a very short walk to local pubs and restaurants for eating. We eat at The Ship Inn a couple of times – their Sunday roast was superb and very good value.
The cottage has lots of brochures and guides on the local area. One of them contains 20 walks around Dolgellau – we did walk no. 15 today.
Outside the cottage is a large decking area with stone BBQ. Not really the weather to properly use it in late October, but in Summer, it would be a great area to sit out and enjoy a summer evening.
I love the size of the cottage. It’s in a narrow street with lots of other similar stone and slate cottages. Absolutely gorgeous.
A perfect and relaxing break. I would absolutely book Bro Dawel again.

Fantastic cottage
Bro Dawel is a fantastic cottage, ideal for a couple or family. We stayed for a week with our border collie and the cottage was so clean, cosy, a good size and really well equipped. We loved the location - perfect for town and for local walks and attractions. The cottage worked really well for us and we really liked the little touches like the incredibly comfy bed, huge fluffy towels, all matching crockery and Emma Bridgewater bedding. The owner Gary emailed us a few weeks before with some recommendations which were perfect and was able to suggest somewhere special for our anniversary dinner. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and will be recommending to friends and family.

Fantastic cottage, beautifully done with everything you will need. The most comfortable mattresses and the shower, well it's amazing. The town of Dolgellau is just a stroll with plenty of places to eat and drink. Great walks from the doorstep and a short drive to the coast. This cottage really does have everything for us, we have hugely enjoyed our stay.
