Variety of things to do nearby- plenty of gentle walks to take in the views. Everywhere will be a drive away (but these drives are not far for Scotland) and you are in coffee shop/cake shop territory, with loads of pretty villages for great afternoons...More

About the neighbourhood
The cottage is perfectly located for exploring many parts of Scotland, 19 miles from St Andrews, 22 miles from Dundee, 35 miles from Edinburgh and 53 miles from Glasgow. The surrounding towns of Auchtermuchty, Falkland, Kinross and the city of Perth offer many choices for eating out and shopping. The cottage is a short drive away from many cultural and historical attractions, including Falkland Palace, Hill of Tarvit Mansion House and Gardens and the Secret Bunker. If you are looking for family fun you have three local activity parks, Muddy Boots, Cairnie Fruit Farm and Cluny Clays, great fun for adults and children.
Getting around
A car is recommended for exploring the local area but if you want to travel into Edinburgh or Glasgow you can do so by train, the nearest station is a short drive away in Ladybank. I would also recommend the park and ride service into Edinburgh, which can be accessed from Dunfermline or Inverkeithing, a great way to avoid the hassle or parking.
