Thank you so much for a great stay and lovely welcome. Rose Cottage was so relaxing, comfy beds and the pool was a real treat (especially when weather was rainy and we didnt make it to beaches) for our two girls aged 17, 15 and our 12 year old son who also enjoyed playing basketball and tennis/ badminton in games barn. We enjoyed visiting bookshops in Wigtown, Reading Lasses Cafe, and also craft shops and farmers market in Kirkcudbright. We also visited Mull of Galloway Lighthouse, Aviation Museum in Dumfries, and Logan Botanical Gardens. It is a lovely relaxing area with lots of wildlife and a place to go to get away from the busyness of life! Thanks again and wishing you all the best for the future

Great service and excellent experience.
Absolutely amazing stay, Paul and his family looked after us above any expectations! Lovely cottages (we had 2), outdoor areas are super, we had no time to try the swimmingpool this time but we definitely will be back! Highly recommended and so close to town and other activities. 10 out of 10.

Love this place!
We have visited these cottages lots over the years and have stayed in Rose Cottage, Granary, Barn and Stables and they're all great! The pool is an added bonus and I know Claire and Paul have worked hard lately to get it back up and running sustainably for future guests. The area is lovely. Rigg Bay is a gem of a beach, there are lots of walks and a wander into Wigtown with its quirky cafes is good too. A little bit further out at Sorbie there is a lovely little restaurant called The Pheasant which does amazing food!
The farm and the cottages are beautifully maintained and it's a lovely relaxing stay. Lpg burners are fab! Well worth a visit!

Brilliant for families
This visit was our second and it certainly won’t be our last. The cottages are well equipped and lovely and clean. Fantastic facilities for kids with the play barn, trampoline, football net, climbing frame and swings. The pool is also fab and the slot booking system means you get the pool just to your own party. We went with kids ranging from 5 to 12 and they all enjoyed it. Lots of places to visit near by but as the weather was so sunny the week we were there we spent at lot of time at the cottage. Claire and Paul are lovely people and wonderful hosts.

Courtyard cottages “Rose”’- perfect for families
Second time visiting Courtyard Cottages and we were not disappointed. Fantastic value for money for clean, roomy cottages. The swimming pool slots are the biggest attraction for us as having privacy in the pool with your family makes swimming so much more enjoyable and less stressful. Plenty of outside activities for the kids to do and so private and safe. Cocobean factory is only 30 mins approx in the car and was a great day out. The only negative (which isn’t any reflection on the cottages) is that you can’t get a takeaway delivered (collection only in local places) and there isn’t many restaurants nearby to walk to so come prepared to drive or be well equipped with food etc. We will definitely be back!

Lovely cottage, fantastic facilities and amazing hosts! Firm family favourite
We've just throughly enjoyed our second stay here and will hopefully be booking for next year it's become a firm family favourite. We all fell in love with the place when we arrived, my son loves it so much he's trying to convince us to move to Scotland!
The cottages are clean and have everything you need for a comfortable weeks stay including a lovely log fire and one of the best things as a mum I could ask for...a washing machine and drying facilities, always a bonus for a mum with two very busy energetic children wanting to get stuck into everything.
The facilities are fantastic, my two could spend hours in the game barn, using the bikes and outdoor play areas and we all love swimming pool especially booking it per cottage this worked very well having a younger baby with us this time who was still getting used to water.
The hosts are very welcoming and will do everything they can to accommodate your needs whilst you are there. They also take the time to make conversation, not just about your stay but general things, especially making the effort with children, my son loved helping them do odd bits on Friday.
Their kindness was especially shown to us on Friday when we were set to leave but after encountering some car problems, they both did whatever they could to help offering coffees and biscuits whilst letting us have full use of the games barn and outdoor play area quite happily. They even let us use our cottage past the 10am check out time for as long as possible before it needed cleaning before the next check in. We didn't feel like they needed us to urgently go and this was more than appreciated.
There is lots to do locally around the cottage with some beautiful walks and many places to see and visit within an hour, we've not run out of places to see after visiting for two years and have lots more on our list for when we return.
Thanks again for a lovely weeks stay, hopefully see you next year 😊

Fabulous Family holiday at Courtyard Cottages
We hired 3 cottages including Rose, and all were excellent. The adults and our 6 grandchildren all had an excellent time, Claire and Paul were wonderful hosts with great advice and suggestions. The weather was fabulous and added to the amazing holiday experience.

Excellent place to stay for a few nights.
Just back from three nights staying in Rose Cottage. We all enjoyed the cottage, the games room, the sheep and Cyril the goat. Six of us had a god few days away had it booked for April 2020 but Covid cancelled that. The pool was great and is booke by the hour or two by the cottage so you basically have it to yourself kids loved it.

Second visit, even better than the first time!
Our first stay was in 2019, Covid ruled out 2020, but pleased to say we have just returned from our 2021 trip and loved every minute. A new kitchen, new sofas, a new living room wood-burning stove enhanced an already lovely, clean, homely cottage which has absolutely everything you need even down to tin foil and washing up liquid 😄. All measures put in place to manage covid safety were there and Claire and Paul were just as welcoming as ever. If you follow Courtyard Cottages on Facebook you will find useful and informative links to local events etc. Beautiful sunrises from the cottage garden to sunsets on the country lane walks and even a pet goat that "gave a paw". Will be booking up again without a doubt
