Beautiful cottage situated within Loch Lomond National Park attached on to the original Blacksmiths House built over Ballagan burn that runs down to meet the waters of Loch Lomond. Private parking and free wifi. Tartan Black watch carpet in sitting room with cable tv, DVD and plenty of brochures and info on surrounding area. Well equipped Kitchen with fridgefreezer, washer/dryer, air fryer, coffee maker, cooker, dishwasher and microwave. One twin en-suite bedroom with freeview tv and double en-suite bedroom. Both beds have electric blankets, clock/radios and hairdryer. All on one level. Private parking and use of patio beside burn which goes through garden.

Perfect location if you want to visit Lock Lomond, Sheer Heaven in a Tea cup !
We had a Great experience visiting Lock Lomond & Balloch where we stayed! This cottage is in a perfect location, which is approx. 10-15 walk into the main area where you can eat, drink, go on tours etc... The hosts Fiona and Dave were one of the most welcolming and warm people I've encountered..They go above and beyong to make you're stay a special one.. The place is roomy and clean with many amenities.. We had perfect warm weather too, in which we could sit by the stream in bliss.. Knowing it was my 50th Birthday, they even took time out by buying me a card & a gift in which I was most humble by.. I‘m looking forward to my next Trip to scotland and stay again at "The Old Smiddy" It was a pleasure; thank you again Helen & Dave, Sláinte.. I miss the sound of the stream at night and when I woke already...

Lovely cottage

Fantastic cottage and location
My husband, children and I stayed in this lovely cottage in February 2020. Fiona, the owner, met us and kindly showed us around. She was very friendly and helpful. The cottage was clean, stocked with everything you’d need and very homely. Location is great, a short walk from Balloch which has lots to do and a great view of the mountains and is ideally located for exploring other areas. We would highly recommend this cottage.

Highly recommended
Our first visit to Scotland and it was absolutely fantastic. The old Smiddy cottage was a God send. Two large bedrooms both ensuite, large living room and kitchen bigger than ours at home. Lovely views from the windows, Balloch town is 0.4 miles walk away and quite pleasant. Plenty of pubs and restaurants. It was a brilliant base to do some travelling as we did.

Great Place to Stay near Loch Lomond
The Old Smiddy Cottage in Balloch is a great place to stay on Loch Lomond and we would definitely stay here again, if we came back to this area. It was great to have two bedrooms, each with its own en suite and it was fitted out with everything you need for a self catering holiday and spotlessly clean. Balloch is a well placed town for exploring this area and in our opinion, the best location on the Loch. Fiona and David are perfect hosts and are there if you need them (they live next door), but give you the privacy you need. It was very quiet and peaceful, with a parking space off the road in the drive and you are only a few minutes walk to the centre of the town, a large supermarket, the Castle Grounds/Park, and great walks along the Loch, including places where you can sit by the loch and swim. A bus stop is nearby and the railway station is a small walk away. Would definitely recommend,

Fantastic cottage
We are just back from a wonderful 3 nights at The Old Smiddy Cottage. It was beautiful, clean and in a brilliant setting for exploring the surrounding area. Our host Fiona and husband were so welcoming and on hand if we needed anything.
Good restaurants and pubs close by. And the Balloch to Luss boat trip was fabulous, having time on Luss to explore.
Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Super Stay - Friendly, Helpful Owners & Ideally Located
From the moment of arrival to the moment of departure, Fiona & David could not do enough to ensure the stay was a pleasure.
Everything in the property you would require for a self catering stay, a real home from home.
Ideally located to explore both East & West of Loch Lomond and further North into The Trossachs.
Highly recommend this property & we are returning next year.

Clean, comfortable and in a great location
My sister, husband and I stayed in this cottage for three nights in mid May. It was perfect for us. The cottage was not as isolated as the pictures would suggest, as it did face a side road. However, after 10:00 p.m. there was very little traffic and the cottage was quiet. The back was very private and green with the stream going through it. The location was really quite good as it was a short drive into town. Fiona was helpful with suggestions, was right next door, but not intrusive. Beds were comfortable, kitchen very well supplied and place was roomy. Lots of room to unpack suitcases and hang clothing up.
We enjoyed eating at the Balloch House and at Cucina. We took a boat trip to Luss and would highly recommend that. Beautiful little town, fascinating church yard and cute shops. Balmaha was well worth a trip.

Fabulous
The cottage is lovely and a perfect base to explore Loch Lomond and the surrounding areas. The owners were really friendly and welcoming. We had everything we needed and more for a relaxing few days away and our granddaughter loved playing pooh sticks under the cottage!

Lovely quiet cottage situated within the National Park attached on to original Blacksmiths house and built over scottish burn. Ideal base for touring also minute from Loch Lomond Shores for shopping, deep sea aquarium, cycling, fishing, golfing all these amenities are minutes away as well as lovely eateries, hotels and pubs.
