Holiday Rental House
Glen Carragrich is a crofter's cottage that has been in the family for many years and is the only cottage on the croft. Situated just a few miles outside Tarbert the main village on the Isle of Harris, Glen Carragrich is set in a large garden and has stunning sea views from all main rooms. Furnished for comfort and in keeping with tradition it offers visitors a taste of the Hebridean lifestyle. Take a window seat and watch the light play on the water, see the ferry come and go, watch the numerous fishing boats and yachts pass by. Take a stroll down the quiet lane, or climb the hill at the back of the house for a truly spectacular view. At the rear of the house is a picnic table. Grab a coffee, or cold drink and sit (hopefully) in the sun, admire the views or do some birdwatching. About the neighbourhood
The cottage is situated on the family croft in Glen Carragrich off the Tarbert to Scalpay road 3 miles from the ferry terminal at Tarbert. It enjoys lovely sea views to the front looking on to the Island of Scotesay and distant Skye. To the back are the majestic North Harris hills All the rooms have a sea view. Both golden eagles and sea eagles can be seen as can red deer. In the area you can enjoy hill climbing, walking and fishing.
Getting around
Although not necessary one would benefit from having a car. There is a local bus that runs from Tarbert to Scalpay. From Tarbert you can get buses to South Harris, Husinish and Stornoway. If you do not want to drive you can take the Tour bus and see the beautiful sights of the Island.
