Cottage -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 4
Portree, Isle of Skye, The Hebrides, Scotland
This lovely loch-side cottage is set in one of Skye's most famous locations, with the well known landmark , The Old Man of Storr
clearly visible to the North. The cottage was built as a fishing lodge and is situated on Loch Fada , the first of the two Storr Lochs.
For those interested in fishing, there is a jetty at the rear of the house and a boat may be hired by prior arrangement, during the Spring and Summer months.
Good trout fishing is reported.
This wild and beautiful landscape has the great advantage of being only 5 miles from Portree, the Capital of the Island. Here you will find all you need by way of shops and places to eat. Portree has the main Harbour of the Island . Various boat-trips may be made from here.

How to get there
Flying to Inverness from either London Garwick or Luton . All the usual car rental companies are based at Inverness airport.
Ie Budget, Hertz etc.. A good alternative is Jacks Car Hire , my personal choice, tel 01463 236572
From Inverness to Skye takes about 3.5 hours., It the most beautiful journey, almost immediately on leaving Inverness you are driving along the shore of Loch Ness, amongst amazing scenery, further on you drive by Loch Cluanie ,A good stop in this vicinity is the Cluanie Inn, set amongst the mountains of Glenshiel . Further on you drive past yet another big loch , Loch Duich,. This is a sea loch and you will see the beautiful old castle,, Eileen Donan, which is open to the public.
Now you are not far from Kyle of Lochalsh and the Skye Bridge.
