Oakfield House is a magnificent example of a classic Scottish Victorian country house that has been in the ownership of the same family for three generations. Stunning home and views!
We have just returned from a week at Oakfield House in Tobermory. The house is the most beautiful and interesting holiday home we’ve ever stayed in, and the views are just incredible. Every time we walked into the drawing room or master suite the view just amazed us. The house is incredibly well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We were a party of four adults and two children (aged 2 and 4). The garden was perfect for the little ones to run around, and there was a good selection of indoor and outdoor toys at the house. The walk down to Tobermory is very quick and the town has lovely restaurants, shops and bars. There is a play park round the corner from the house too. The house is so spacious, but also warm and cosy. Everything was finished to a very high standard and the hosts have left lots of information on the house, appliances, local area etc which we found helpful. We did not want to leave! It felt like our very own Downton Abbey. We will definitely be back.

Very highly recommended.
The owners of this authentic, beautifully restored and memorable Victorian house were welcoming, the house was spotless and extremely well equipped, warm, spacious and very comfortable. We had a wonderful holiday, wanted to stay longer and would love to return to this fabulous, private and stunning location. Exceeded our expectations.

Outstanding
Oakfield House lived up to our expectations in every way - it’s such a beautiful property, fabulous views from the terrace, extremely well equipped kitchen, spacious rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would highly recommend staying at Oakfield House.

April/May 2024 stay at Oakfield House
Oakfield House exceeded all our expectations. A beautiful house with stunning view located a very short walk from Tobermory town centre. The house was very well equipped, especially the Kitchen. We would definitively choose to stay here again in he future.

Fantastic House
We booked this house for a family holiday for a special birthday celebration.
The house has 5 bedrooms, 4 ensuite and a separate bathroom, 2 beautiful lounge's overlooking Tobemory bay and a very well equipped kitchen and separate large dining room.
The house was very well equipped with everything you could need for a self catering holiday.
The house was warm with lots of hot water.
When our ferry was cancelled because of bad weather the owner contacted us to advise us of an alternative route.
We ate out at The Galleon and An Cala Ciuin which was amazing.
We were very lucky with the weather and we have fallen in love with this part of the world.

Lovely holiday in Tobermory
This a splendid house with a lovely spacious garden and a magnificent view over Tobermory Bay.
The house is roomy and retains the character of its original construction. At the same time the kitchen is modern and very well equipped.
We have already booked our stay for next year.

A superb option for larger groups
A superb house, perfect for larger groups. The house interior has a wonderful historical feel along with appropriate modern improvements like immaculate bathroom facilities. Also stunning seascapes views! See you in the Autumn.

Wonderful home for a week
This is our third stay at Oakfield and once again proved to be an excellent home for the 8 of us for a week. It is so warm and comfortable you don't mind if the weather is not playing ball. It is so well equipped, all top quality, and the views are just wonderful. We have already booked again for next year.

Wonderful house with stunning views
This beautiful house just oozes quality. The location is stunning with fantastic views over the Sound of Mull to Ardnamurchan. I loved the stained glass windows on the staircase. The house has everything you need and the kitchen is one of the best equipped I have ever seen. The Everhot oven is a joy to cook on with 3 separate ovens. Only a five minute walk down to Tobermory Harbour with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants to choose from.

Once you exit the ferry on Mull, turn right and carry on the double track road until you get to the first village of Salen. Continue through the village after which the road becomes single track with passing places. If you get a queue of cars behind its good manners to pull into one of the passing places and allow them to pass and continue on their way and it also allows you to take your time and enjoy the scenery and wildlife.
The road then briefly changes to double track again taking you into Tobermory where you encounter Mulls one and only roundabout. Go straight across (1st exit) and then turn immediately right at the bus stop. This is Breadalbane Street and you continue on this for about 1/2 a mile until you go down a short narrow and steep hill to a ‘T’ junction. Turn right here and you will have the An Tobar Community Arts Centre on your right and come almost immediately to another junction. Go straight across the junction and travel half way down this brae (which is called the Back Brae), then take the left fork which immediately starts going uphill again, pass the Western Isles Hotel on your right, then the War Memorial on your right just prior to a left hand bend. Continue up this single track road and take the 2nd opening on the left which is the entrance to Oakfield House. Just open the white cast iron gates and continue up the treelined driveway to the large parking area at the left of the house.
