Gate Cottage is the perfect base for five, with a double and a 'triple' bedroom (a bunk bed and a single bed) downstairs and an open plan living area upstairs. The Cottage is situated in our main courtyard, with views from the rear windows onto our quiet leafy lane. About the neighbourhood
North Devon is a wonderful mixture of towns, villages, farms and Estates, whether in the countryside or clinging to the coast. We are in a rural world of our own here at Trimstone, with the Hotel's gardens backing onto fields. You'll be well away from the hustle and bustle whilst still being centrally located for shopping or the cinema in Barnstaple or Ilfracombe, the beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde or Saunton and the majesty of Exmoor.
Getting around
Trimstone is a tranquil, secluded spot but easily accessible from the A361 making it the ideal spot for a holiday whilst allowing guests to explore the beaches and countryside of North Devon and Exmoor. Local attractions include sheep dog and falconry demonstrations, a sea life aquarium, surfing lessons, horse riding, fishing and clay shooting, historic Chambercombe Manor and the National Trust's Carriage Collection at Arlington Court as well as artist Damien Hurst's 'Verity' on Ilfracombe Pier and many beautiful coastal and country walks. We're only half a mile off the bus route to Woolacombe, so you can get to the beach using public transport. However, the easiest way to enjoy all North Devon has to offer is by car.
