There are a variety of shops as well as four bars in the area. More active facilities, such as a public tennis court and an open-air swimming pool, are available in Chagford. The Three Crowns Hotel, which dates back to the 1200s, is located in this historic town. Chagford is noted for its culture, hosting film, literary, and music festivals as well as the Two Hills Race, an annual running race. Exeter, a vibrant, lovely city just over 21 miles away, offers a different kind of getaway and is well worth a visit. Okehampton, a quaint and attractive town, is about 12 miles distant.
