Overview
Tower -
3 Bedrooms , 3 Bathrooms , Sleeps 6
St Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands
Set on a cliff top overlooking Corbière lighthouse on Jersey's south-west tip, the Radio Tower provides stunning self-catering accommodation over six floors and boasts a 360-degree view.

The Radio Tower is one of Jersey's most iconic sites and is one of our most popular with visitors and residents alike. Standing on the south-west tip of Jersey's shoreline, the tower has the most amazing views from the lounge, no matter what the weather.

Built during the Second World War by German Occupying Forces, the tower has been sympathetically restored in a German modernist Bauhaus style with a concrete staircase winding through the centre of the building over six floors to a wooden spiral staircase which takes you to the top floor. Original features include observation slots on the seaward side and steel doors on the ground floor. Fr...

Our first impression was: What have we done? The entrance was next to the bins and overgrown with weeds. Once inside, it had obviously rained earlier, as we were squelching through a large puddle on the concrete floor (this puddle stayed all week). When the...More

Original features include observation slots on the seaward side and steel doors on the ground floor. From 1976, the Tower was adapted for use by States of Jersey Harbours and Airport Committee who added the panoramic, glass-panelled control room so duty officers could monitor radio communication for vessels using the English Channel.

The second to fourth floors house three identical double bedrooms, each customised within the rounded walls of the tower with fitted wardrobes and their own adjacent showroo...

About the neighbourhood
Corbière is the extreme south west tip of Jersey with a rugged coastline and dramatic views out to sea and across the sweeping St Ouen's Bay. Jersey is thoroughly British but with a distinct French flavour. Although firecely loyal to the Crown for more than 800 years, the French influence lingers on in local surnames and place and street names. The capital St Helier is packed with continental style bistros, restaurants and pavement cafes.

You do not need a passport to visit the Channel Islands unless you intend taking a day trip to France which is a short hop away by sea or air. You will need proof of identity for flights and sea travel to the Island. As on the UK mainland the currency is sterling but Euros are accepted in many shops and other outlets.

There is plenty to do in the...

How to get there
Jersey is a compact 9 miles by 5 miles so nowhere is too far away. Radio Tower is only a 15 minute drive from Jersey Airport and a 2O minute drive from the Harbour but should you wish to explore our 45 square miles of lush valleys, well-kept fields and amazing unspoilt coastline it would be advisable to hire a car if you are not bringing your own.
Please be aware that during rare, unfavourable weather conditions combined with the Tower's location and wind direction, bedroom three can experience loud noise interference. There is a double sofa bed situated in the lounge diner on the top floor should this be necessary during your stay.
Radio tower is close to Corbiere Lighthouse and light flashes will occur during the night. During periods of very poor visibility the lighthouse foghorn wi...
