Cabin Holiday Rental
Grandma's Ranch House at Newton Fork Ranch was built in 1914. The restoration of this lovely single-story cottage, backed by quaking aspen trees, was completed a few years ago. This distinctive two-bedroom South Dakota ranch house features a full bath with period stylings such as a claw foot slipper bathtub and vanity with vessel bowl sink. It also has a fully-equipped kitchen with modern electric stove and refrigerator, a small antique farm table, wood-burning cook stove, and an old-fashioned hand pump. Although the latter two appliances are non-functioning, they serve as a reminder of the early 1900s. Grandma's Ranch House is also unique in that it is an historic building, is situated next to Newton Fork Creek, and has its own private yard. Just imagine escaping on a vacation getaway to a quaint ranch house that is both quiet and secluded yet only 1/2 mile from Hill City's Main Street. Our property is in the 'Heart of the Black Hills' so we are centrally located to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, and many other Black Hills attractions. Our Grandma's Ranch House aspires to become your home away from home; your peaceful oasis from a world filled with time constraints and non-stop activity. Our fully furnished and well-equipped cabins will afford you a welcome respite from a hectic life. An afternoon sitting on the deck watching wildlife or an evening spent by a warm fire will transport you to a far simpler and more tranquil time.More

About the neighbourhood
Hill City is centrally located in the 'Heart of the Black Hills.' If your search for South Dakota accommodations includes some of that famous Black Hills fishing, Deerfield Lake is just up the road. And Hill City, with its many art galleries, restaurants, wineries, and gift shops is only a half-mile from our cozy and secluded log cabin rental. Our property is an idyllic and restful hideaway where the absence of telephones and televisions recalls a slower and more peaceful time long forgotten.
Getting around
The most convenient way to tour and sightsee, around the beautiful and pristine Black Hills, is by car. Hill City is well-known locally for its restaurants, art galleries, unique shops, historic 1880 Train, and the museum at the Black Hills Institute of Geological Research. All of this and more is a casual stroll away via the Mickelson Hiking & Biking Trail.
