The light-filled living area combines the best of the past with the best of the present; with a soaring vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, a cosy wood burner and breathtaking orchard views. There's a relaxed country vibe in the bedroom. With a king-sized oak bed and crisp, cotton linens you're sure to enjoy a restful night's sleep. The spacious kitchen area is well-equipped with electric oven and hob; dishwasher; microwave; combined washing machine and dryer; fridge and freezer. Carefully curated mid-century-modern tableware lends an individual touch. The bathrooms have a sophisticated, modern feel with contemporary fittings and warm Karndean flooring. A 5 metre glazed screen spans the living area and leads directly to a private paved area within a beautiful one-acre organic orchard. For the exclusive use of just a handful of cottages, the orchard is an oasis of nature and wildlife. Set within a picturesque cobbled courtyard, within a quieter area of Lower Mill Estate, Hobby's Rest has an 'off the beaten-track' appeal; but If you're feeling active, there's a real holiday vibe here too. Cycle, play tennis or swim in the outdoor heated swimming pool. Hire a Canadian-style canoe or paddle board and be enchanted by water voles, otters and beavers in their natural habitat as you explore the 7 lakes and 3 rivers of this exclusive rural nature reserve. All activities are included in the rental price. Bring your own equipment or hire it here from the Activity Hub at the Old Mill. Hobby's Rest offers free, unlimited wifi; SMART TV with freeview and NOW TV; DAB radio/music centre by PURE. Sorry, no pets are permitted. Hobby's Rest is a smoke-free environment. Whilst you are able to drop bags at the courtyard gate, secure designated parking is nearby, just a 1 minute walk away. We can recommend the spa facilities and beauty therapy treatments at the De Vere Cotswold Water Park Hotel - 5 minutes away by car - but please note that entrance to the Estate Art Spa is not included. About the neighbourhood
Hobby's Rest oozes country charm, combining original rustic features and contemporary touches in an enchanting holiday home for two. Close to the sleepy village of Somerford Keynes, with it's quintessentially English chocolate-box pub, it's the perfect place for a romantic getaway. Nearby Cirencester, the elegant gateway to the Cotswolds, is a lively, attractive location, full of smart shops, cafes and restaurants. The area has some fabulous local pubs with good food, great ale and welcoming hospitality. There's excellent fishing too!
How to get there
Hobby's Rest is only 90 minutes by car from London and approximately 60 minutes by rail. The nearest main line station, Kemble, is a ten minute drive away. A taxi from here to Lower Mill Estate costs around £10. From from the North - Exit M5, Junction 11A towards Cirencester / London. From the South - Exit M4, Junction 15 towards Swindon / Cirencester.
