We stayed at this house at the beginning of March 2023. From the moment we walked in the door it was delightful. Beautifully furnished. Every seat was comfortable. Anything you may need in the kitchen was there. The appliances are newer and worked as they should. We had an issue with the dishwasher but reported it to the property manager. The beds were SO comfortable. I wish I could find out where the mattress toppers came from. There is a sun deck as well as a covered deck so we were able to be outside in all weather. The washer and dryer are newer and worked perfectly. The bathrooms are very well appointed and roomy. The remodel of this house (in 2021) is a renter's dream. We had one other small problem and the property manager addressed it immediately. They were very helpful. We will stay here again, no question.

NEVER AGAIN
This is our third year coming to Edisto. The first 2 were amazing, but our families have grown and we needed a bigger house.
From the moment we walked into water and soap all over the kitchen floor from the diswasher, to having an electrician there for 7 hours our first day, we knew there was trouble. Broken tiles, locks, fans, bathroom fan covers and bathtub stoppers, appliances, tvs, remotes, window screens, burnt out light bulbs throughout, deck chairs falling apart and deckboards popping up everywhere, turned out to be the least of our worries when we learned of drugs/drug paraphanalia and condoms laying around in drawers and on window sills for our 18 month old, 4 year old, 8 year old, 12 year old, and 13 year old to get into.
The decor is hideous and antequaited. The kitchen drawers either fall out or get stuck...the kitchen sink plugs regularly and the sprayer on faucet doesn't work.
Oh, and prepare to sweat the night away upstairs in the bedrooms if you have all the doors shut. The AC does not make it back into the bedrooms.
The location was great and
I will note that we were refunded 10%. That payed for our groceries I guess... score...

Location, Location, Location!
Wave Watching is a lovely ocean front home. The location can not be beat! The house is situated pretty much in the center of the island so it is not too far to the sound and Bay Creek Park and not a long bike ride to groceries and restaurants. We spent hours on the wonderful porch overlooking the ocean. We enjoyed a tremendous live dolphin show when pods of dolphins cavorted right in front of our house, leaping high out of the water. The living room is comfortable with really nice furniture. There are two awesome recliners and two cushy leather couches. The beds are comfortable enough and have no awful sinky places in the mattresses. The upstairs bathrooms are very nice and have double basins in both of them. There is a good sized washer and dryer that both work well. Parking is fabulous! We had covered parking for both cars and plenty of room for bikes. If you have lots of cars there is lots of room and it's all paved. The outdoor showerhead located right at the beach is very handy. We used it everyday. The main living area is all tile floors. They are pretty easy to keep clean but they are really hard on bare feet. Bring some soft slip on shoes to wear in the house. Your feet will thank you. I gave it four stars instead of five for a couple of reasons. There are no screens on the windows. The house has wonderful big windows facing the ocean but you can't open them to get the benefit of the ocean breezes. We were there during love bug season and opening the windows without screens was not an option. Also, the kitchen could use some more pots and pans of various sizes. If there is something special you use at home and can't live without, bring it with you! I was glad I brought my own set of knives and measuring cups. The house is recommended for large groups but there were only 4 of us. The pots and pans were all super sized. The TV is very complicated with 3 remote controls. Fortunately this house is located right across the road from Edisto Realty, the rental agent for the property. They were very kind about sending over someone to help us get the TV working again. We called them twice. The last day of our vacation we just gave up and didn't watch TV. That was OK. The dolphins were much more entertaining than football. All in all, this is a really NICE vacation rental. It has some nice upgrades and I am thinking that there will probably be more improvements made in the future. We would happily come back and stay here again. I wish we could come TODAY!!

What a grand experience to see a pod of dolphins right in front of the house. I will let the owners know about installing window screens and updating the kitchen inventory.
