For over 100 years, New Hope has been a well known art community. Another main attraction is the local 'Bucks County Playhouse which was home away from home to many of Hollywood's greatest stars in the 1940's and 1950's many of whom later made New Hope their home. Note: PLEASE don't inquire about one night stays.Other Activities: If you like shopping, then you'll love New Hope, Pa. Located just a 5 minutes down the road is Peddler's Village. It was originally built to look like a Colonial village with 80 unique quaint little shops dotted along the meandering herringbone brick walkways. All thoughout the shopping village are beautiful gardens with waterfall fountains and koi ponds. Great restaurants there too... and if thats not enough, you also have all the outlet stores just across the street! Also right nearby are two great flea markets for those who like to get up early on Tuesday or Saturday mornings to get the good stuff :-)We also have 8 wineries that give tours, one great art museum (Michener Art Museum) and two other museums which are castles: Font Hill Museum and Merser Museum. In addition to everything else, we have all kinds of historic tours you can take, boat rides on the river, a train ride on an old steam engine that takes you through the heart of Bucks County OR you can watch a local polo match...

A magical stay in a far away place, which is just what I needed!
Romantic Herringbone Cottage is so wonderful because it is itself is so very charming and inviting. Every amenity made it feel like my very own country house. I chose this place as I needed tranquility, in which to enjoy my own company. Eleanor Miller and Kurt Miller are very welcoming and kind and hospitable. The room is large and comfortable and everything is perfectly clean. The bed is very comfortable and all the linens are pressed and crisp! As much as I would like this to be my secret, I have to lavish praise here, and it is my pleasure to do so!

Most Romantic Cottage that I've ever been in!
We stayed in Eleanor/Kurt's Romantic Cottage #2. Laura, my fiance and I were pleasantly surprised! Owner Kurt met us as we drove up and gave us a tour and the history of not just the area but where we were staying. We were blown away of the history and of the other cottages that Kurt took us through. My fiance couldn't control her excitement! (Which made me look really good in her eyes..LOL) For the three days that we were there, we had an abundance of things to do, not only in town but in the immediate area. Laura and I were so grateful for Kurt letting us know of the things that we could do! It was the weekend of Laura's birthday and the only thing that she wanted was snow...LOL..and it actually snowed on that Saturday! WOW!! The cottage #2 was awesome and was clean and spotless. Fully stocked with everything that we needed. The bed was amazing and comfortable! Very Happy! We plan on coming back every year and in between! Thank you again Kurt, you are an amazing Host! A very happy and satisfied customer, Michael P. Le Faucheur

Amazing
A compound of English cottages next to an amazing French restaurant in a building built in 1710. The stay was romantic and the price was right. Kurt and Eleanor were gracious and intuitively helpful. We are coming back here and soon.

Enchanting surroundings. Perfect for the rejuvenation of soul and body. Kurt was very warm and welcoming. We enjoyed hearing the history of the buildings and stories of his ancestors. Found plenty to keep us busy in the town of New Hope as well.. Thank You!

Wonderful Cottage
Wonderful place to unwind for a few days in a beautiful setting. Eleanor and her son Kurt were gracious hosts giving us a wonderful tour of the property upon arrival. The property is well kept and relaxing. The restaurant adjoined to the property was outstanding and very reasonable. 1 mile up the road is New Hope which is a great town to visit and shop. The Bucks County Playhouse was a great surprise and my wife and I saw a really enjoyable show there--The Buddy Holly Story. I wound highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing, slightly mystical cottage, on a beautiful relaxing property.

unique setting. nice accomodations. great host.
Bucks County is impressive. Much more upscale than I thought. Bucks County Playhouse had a wonderful show. Walking into town about 1.5 miles along the canal kept us from gaining too much weight. Relaxing weekend.
